Well my weight hasn't further increased so that's a plus! I'm 39 weeks and 4 days today... 3 days til my due date! Much like Cathy, my last day of work is Friday! The difference is she's done FOREVER and I'll be right back in here in 13 weeks lol.
I have my 40 week appointment on Friday. I'm not looking forward to having a medical induction scheduled. My mom had me 3 weeks early and my brother 4 days late so I'm hoping I won't stray too far from her experience. My sister in law keeps telling me that as soon as I'm overdue (which technically, would be Sunday) I should be mixing a tablespoon of castor oil in a glass of coke and I'll have this baby out in no time. This also terrifies me (but not as much as a medical induction). So who knows how I will feel and if I'll be willing to give that a try. Come on Sydney, just come on your own soon and I won't have to make any decisions. :)

DO NOT DO WHAT YOUR SIL SAYS!!! VERY DANGEROUS! I was induced with both kids - Its just fine, and medically safe. Don't worry, the kid will come out at some point - no matter what.

I had a C-section scheduled, but went into labor 8 hours early. Off we went to the hospital, still had the c-section but had to feel the contractions that I thought I would get to skip. It was the last time my daughter has been early for anything. The kid just does not understand what "hurry up" means!

Hi Chris! I thought your next journal would be your first as-a-mom journal... butSydney didn't show up yet. I know castor oil very well for other purposes but I had never heard of this one... I do not recomend it, as I'm not a doctor, but if it was my pregnancy I would use palmarosa (cymbopogon martinii) essential oil. It's a uterine stimulant, used in holistic medicine to induce labor. I used it once (by mistake, I took the wrong bottle) for menstrual cramps. I can tell you that I will NEVER make that mistake again!! It definitely worked!! Anyways, I hope you won't need anything and your little girl will be born naturally on her own.

Hi Chris...I am happy you are doing well and you must be so excited that soon your bundle of joy will be here. I agree with Mom even though I don't know much about that. Just wait it out. Stay safe and healthy and don't take any chances. Yea for us and our last day of work. I can't wait. Never thought I would ever leave or want to but other than the people I won't miss it a bit. Have a happy day..

Chris, your baby will come when she is ready... my first two were within 2 days of their due date and my youngest was 2 weeks early (weighed 8lbs)... I hope you don't go over too long... Let the dr's take care of what needs to happen... you are so close at this point.. a few more days won't hurt... take care
