Ok - lessons learned.... I have a pretty social life that involves dinners/lunches/drinks with family and friends. i need to figure out a way to limit what I eat/drink and maybe even just say no altogether sometimes. We've been invited out Friday night to a luau that will certainly not be fun unless drinks are involved so I've declined. I'm planning to get up and go running Saturday morning and won't want to if I go out. So I ask myself... what am i really missing here? Nothing. I'll still have the company of my husband Friday night and we will probably eat a nice healthy dinner. I'm fortunate that he too wants to be healthier. I need to follow his lead more often.

Congratulations on the commitment to eat healthy and run! So you won't have to beg off the fun, there are low calorie drinks that can allow you to still be social. I just purchased skinny girl margarita- it only has 38 calories for a small drink. My husband drinks bloody marys which are low cal and kind of healthy(tomato juice?).
My husband travels a lot, has to do business dinners/lunches and it is so hard to stick to a diet with the social lifestyle.
I wish you luck and will let you know how skinny girl margaritas are if you are interested!
