180.6 ... steady
Calories Consumed 2037 (approximately)
Calories Burned 2606

No elliptical yesterday with the trip to the airport. I shopped instead!! My typical meals didn't quite happen. There were veggies, dip, a nut mixture, and doughnuts in the break room when I got back to the office. I snacked on a few carrots & broccoli and then "tasted" the doughnuts but slicing off a little piece of each. That was probably a mistake and I wanted more!! Then I discovered the nut mixture. Oh how I love NUTS ... I had some of those. Fortunately I needed to go see a client so it stopped the grazing ... temporarily.

Picked up a couple of nice steaks on the way home. We had BBQ Steak, salad, and sourdough bread for dinner. I only ate half my steak and put the rest in the refrigerator. Later though ... the bread was calling me from downstairs and I went to see what it wanted. It wanted me to eat it!!! I had several slices of bread with a little cheese on it ... didn't even bother to weigh it so I am guessing at how much I ate!! I see I forgot to put in the nuts I ate too. Of course I didn't measure or weigh them either so who knows how many I really ate. I also, over the course of the evening, watching movies at home, managed to drink not one, not two, but three "light" beers!!

And yet ... I did not feel "out-of-control." It was a higher calorie day, that is okay. I had a good day.

I actually slept in this morning ... didn't get out of bed until 7:30 am!! Yes, that is sleeping in ... I usually get up no later than 5 am. Hubby just went into town to take the trash to the dump and buy some gas for the chainsaw. Not sure why he didn't do it yesterday but it gives me a chance to get on the elliptical this morning and visit my friends here briefly. The plan for today is to cut up some wood (we have a huge felled tree that has been down since last year) and later get cleaned up (me dressed up in my new silver heels) and go out to dinner. So, today will not be a "low calorie" day but I will get in some extra exercise with the tree!! LOL!!

I feel back to myself more these last few days. Thanks for hanging in there with me. I certainly hope that at some point I will learn how to plan for "recovery" as Cindy described it ... and be able to take the "ups" and "downs" more in stride ... more "matter-of-fact" ... with less emotionally intensity. Because ... quite frankly ... it will happen again and again and again ... because I CHOOSE to enjoy myself and vary what I eat.

Have a wonderful weekend. I hope you all are enjoying some sun, blue skies, and mild temperatures today.

The wood chopping will be a great workout! Lucky you! You live in the country -- right? I lived in the country as a little girl. I loved it! SIGH! Have a great weekend!

Yes ... we live on 20 acres outside of a little town in North Idaho. The boonies ... actually ... not even the country!! LOL!!!

Change of plans ... no wood cutting today ... it is too warm out. Maybe tomorrow? At least we have gas for the chainsaw now.

That is a nice stable sounding reading at 180 and a good place to take a little break. You've gotten it almost all back so you can experiment around a bit. If you gain some back on the scales, it's meaningless. 15 cashews are "verified" in my calorie counter at 156 calories so, I would overestimate them at 200 calories, and there you have the price of nuts (very expensive and almost impossible to eat just a few). SBD likes 15 a day at most but be careful because, as you well know, once you start, the situation can easily get away from you. When you say you didn't weigh the foods so you have no idea how much you ate, it's understandable. However, weighing them only once or twice at the beginning and paying close attention will give you a good and necessary reference point for the future (try always to overestimate, that favors you of course, and slowly you will build a knowledge base which will allow you to make quite accurate approximations all the time). Only, the beginning is somewhat difficult. The other day at the pig out you seemed to have lost your balance a little but what do you expect when you go to a place called a "pig out." ;-) Now you seem back to your old self: calm and composed, discussing things in a logical way and looking at things not optimistically nor pessimistically, but as they are. Besides that, the silver heels for dinner sound awfully nice as they imply other nice touches, and a great feeling all along the way where you will be presented with many things (blessings). Have a great time my friend and continue to enjoy the weekend.

Oh I love your attitude for today! And your journal, and that you mention ME~ heehe, ok... shopping is a work out! Especially trying on all those shoes AND lifting those purses, you are set. I had higher cal last night than expected too, and a dirty martini, YIKES! I know right. *sigh, today should have been weigh in, but I am grateful you made me think of the 'plan for recovery' plan, so my spirits are high, and my indulgence last night was more appreciated. Have a wonderful time out w/ your hubby, wear those heels proudly for YOU are a successful and gorgeous woman, and YOU will live life that way!!!

There is a good friend of my GF's that lives in Idaho, they seem to love it there and have invited us many times. Perhaps one day our paths will cross.

Do you live anywhere near Sandpoint, ID? My friend lives on Lake Pend Oreille, near Bayview and it's absolutely gorgeous. He keeps trying to convince me to pick up stakes in Cali and move there. It's a tough-sell with winter in sight, although I love the idea of hybernating by a warm fire.

I admit it - I was surprised to hear that they sell silver heels in No. Idaho, and that there are restaurants where you can wear them! I live about 15 miles outside of Boston - we have one of the biggest properties in town, with an acre and a third. You sound pretty cheery today - good job!

You're doing great getting those little blue dots going downward on your chart. I get the same way when I eat something like donuts. I have a small piece and then I want more and more and more! Glad you're feeling better and back to yourself again. I think it's great that you choose to enjoy yourself and eat various foods. We have to learn how to do that sooner or later or else when we quit "dieting" the weight will just come back! Keep on keepin' on Girlfriend! ((((HUGS))))

doit2it - I live in Sandpoint actually!! Not on the lake though ... too pricey!! We are about 20 miles outside of town in the mountains. You MUST like winter to live here, that is for certain. Winter is one of my favorite seasons ... though the last two have been VERY LONG!!! Bayview is very pretty ...

I was in northern Idaho on I90; beautiful country. Spent the holidays in Missoula MT and gained 5 lbs but it will come off as I've already lost 3 and I did enjoy my splurge. Good luck with new lifestyle and healthy losing.

On I90 you would have traveled through Coeur d' Alene ... Sandpoint is even prettier ... if you can imagine. Missoula is a nice area too ... I lived in Bozeman, Montana for several years ...
