Wohoo! Major milestone reached!
I have now lost 1/3 of my entire body weight! This is so cool.
This morning I reached a new lowest weigh-in at 101.7 kgs. Starting at 155, this now means that I am ONE THIRD of my body weight down. This is awesome.
...and now to something else. I went for a walk yesterday, with my gorgeous wife, and had an experience I really did not like. I met no less than THREE friends whom I have not seen in quite a while. All of them were amazed with my weight loss, and couldn't believe how much I had lost, how good I look etc. etc. It makes me happy to hear the compliments. It obviously makes me feel good getting the recognition and all, and I appreciate it. That is until they (and this happens every so often) turn to my wife and asks "So when are YOU gonna lose weight?".
I swear, one of these days I'm gonna snap and punch someone. What the hell, dude? Show a little courtesy! My wife is not severely obese or anything. She's chubby, but looks really good. It's no big deal. However, of course, to her it IS a big deal to hear this. It's hurtful, makes her want to not go out, and makes her feel bad about herself. - and THAT makes me angry.
Fact of the matter is that she IS losing weight, but not doing a conscious effort to do so. It's just a side effect of me doing this. Since we all eat together it will naturally affect her calorie intake also. But frankly, I don't give a damn whether she loses weight or not. She's not in any kind of danger zone. She is stunningly gorgeous.
I think next time we hear that question I will simply ask when their wife is gonna get that boob job or her teeth corrected. Or whatever other obvious flaw she might have. I'm sick of this shit. Sorry, had to vent.
Now, though we had another of these lousy experiences yesterday, please don't forget that LIFE IS GOOD!

Oh that's so mean. I'm sure it was just something to say. I hope she feels better.

I appreciate it, Helewis. It makes me mad, because it clearly hurts. Of course it does - I got hurt back when I would hear it also. I just can't believe how others get judgmental. I realize that most people don't think of the fact that it is rude and hurtful - they just say it because I lost weight and she doesn't seem like she has (though she actually lost a good chunk). I'm sure you know how people can be around us chubbies. :/

I hate this about people. I am facing the same problem as my husband loses weight so slowly compared to me. He gets affected by it and sabotages himself and sometimes even my diet. But we got to support our partners through this. I love him thick or thin. And he actually likes me chubbier than thinner. Isnt that a beautiful thing... I love the fact that you think your wife is gorgeous irrespective of her weight. If it affects your wife that much, may be you can highlight that you were the fatter one and that's why more noticeable to others ( i do that so just saying..)

I think that is just inconsiderate in so many ways. Even if she was incredibly overweight it is none of their business if she loses weight or not. I love the fact that you think your wife is gorgeous the way she is because it shows you see her as a whole person and not just a body.
