I have been eating food like a skinny girl with a high metabolism. This weight gain does not surprise me. I can think of so many reasons I've been shoveling the food in. It was really cold in my house because the furnace was broken, but it's fixed now Yay! I think my body was trying to defend itself. Plus between myself and my girlfriend we've both been working crazy hours of overtime. I think I was depressed never getting to see her. I think I'm also a little depressed because my back won't let me work out, which is stupid, BECAUSE I NEVER WORK OUT! To not have the option if I wanted to though is bringing me down. My back is almost better now. It's only taken 11 days so far. I can't explain why my brain thinks the way it does. We don't always agree.

I rather tip online that said to keep from eating keep your hands busy. Well I need a scarf so I thought I would crochet a scarf for myself and the girlfriend wanted one and I thought I would make one for my mom for Christmas. The only problem is I don't know how to crochet and it was pissing me off. I am a knitter! I have to have both hands actively engaged in the process so now I am knitting scarves. I started last night before bed and I'm about halfway through my scarf. Then when I'm done with those I've got some Christmas decorations to make. So hopefully I will stop shoveling food in my face for a while.

Glad you heat is fixed, your body probably was craving food to help keep itself warm. Knitting is good, hands are busy you can't eat unless you put it down. I need to get some handwork stuff out, cross stitch, and knitting to do instead of playing stupid games on the computer.

Oh, man, Christmas! You had to say it didn't you. It's that crazy time of year when the wife feels everything has to be fresh baked and home made. She doesn't have to! I try to tell her to buy the stuff she wants and forget it, but nooo! Don't get me wrong. I love the effort and appreciate she's still trying to be mom (which she is) to our grown children, but I need to build an extra room on the house so I can get away from all the stress!!!

I so know that mindset.. 'skinny girls can eat all they want'... only if they ate all *I* want they wouldn't be skinny. I have to remember that.

lol. That's a perfect observation, Bella. I'll remember that one... not that I've ever been a skinny girl.

I was a skinny girl one, I just didn't know it. I've been knee deep in Chriskwanzuka for about a month now. Most of my toys are either Santa's reindeer, or the island of misfit toys, toys. I keep saying over and over "I want to be a dentist" everytime I put that elf in a machine. I might be crazy in a week or two. You could do what my dad does and go in my old bedroom to watch TV. Luckily my mom is hard of hearing so she can't hear him muttering.

I love knitting and I don't get to do it nearly enough. I'm definitely going to try crochet again. I invested a whole dollar in the hook after all. I just like that both hands are active vs the left hand just holding the yarn. Plus I really need a scarf so I was in a hurry and crochet was taking too long to learn. I think I spent at least half an hour on it.

I've been crocheting since the 6th grade. I can't knit. I think the 2 hand coordination is beyond me. I need a pink hat to go with my scarf and gloves (store bought). Perhaps it's time to make one. Heaven knows I have enough pink yarn.

Lol yarn is addictive. That's part of the reason I want to learn to crochet. Seems like you can make more flexible items like hats with crochet vs knitting.

Glad your heat is back to working, I just had to buy a new space heater for my back porch so my washer won't freeze again. They moved the snow in the forecast to Sunday instead of tomorrow, now its rain, the ice is coming. I know the feeling about shoveling the food in, i've been doing the same thing. I have too many reasons to list on what could be causing it, lol I'm going to be getting my crocheting out soon, i can't knit. Well, have fun knitting and good luck with the food issue, i'm sure you will do better.

Put some Coconut oil in your coffee and watch the appetite go away. Feel better and hope your back gets better too.

I've done the coconut oil in the coffee. I've gotten away from it. Thanks for the reminder. I need to pick that back up. I saw some white flakes floating through the air, I just assumed someone was smoking A LOT. I don't mind snow but the route I drive for work just got bigger and it's gonna be a fun winter if it's anything like last year. Isn't it funny that people are either knitters or crocheters but r rarely both? At least the people I know anyway. Scarf is about 3 feet now.

I can't crochet evenly for anything. Things always end up wonky. Can knit, don't do it much though. Should dig out these scarves I started last year.

Knitting and doing is a craft is a good way to keep your mind of food. I've done knitting.
