Happy to finally see a downward trend after being in a plateau for months. Maybe it was fear. We had a sudden, severe storm yesterday afternoon that knocked down trees around the neighborhood. One minute, it went from sunny to a little cloudy, then there was an explosive rush of wind and I could see trees swaying back and forth from my home office window. I grabbed my dog by the collar and we went to the center hallway. I could hear hail chips smacking the windows sideways and the wind was roaring. Both of us were pretty scared. I wasn't worried about the cats because they always duck under a bed when there's trouble. lol

One tree crushed my next door neighbor's garage. I knew his dogs were in the yard, so I went over to check on them since he was at work. They were fine, but I was afraid they'd try to escape the crushed fence, so I let my dog out on the deck to keep them distracted and away from the damage. They spent the rest of the afternoon barking at each other until their owner got back home.

The paper said it was straight line winds of 61mph. Seemed a little worse than that at the time and considering the size of the trees that are down.

We were without power until 5am. Mr Coco has to sleep with a CPAP, so he left to go sleep at his studio since it still had power. I stayed home with our pets.

We've had several of these brief, intense storms this summer. It seems they pop up so quickly that the weather channels don't have time to warn us.

I don't even remember everything I ate yesterday because I was grazing absent-mindedly for a few hours after the storm. No binges, just bites. We did have a grilled chicken on salad at a neighborhood bistro, so maybe not too much dietary damage.

Gotta catch up on work now that I'm behind.

Edit: Wow! I just noticed my bar turned green! That's exciting.
153.4 lb Lost so far: 58.6 lb.    Still to go: 3.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Thanks, Lisa! And I don't know what is up with this weather. It's freakier than usual. Right this minute we're having even more storms with killer lightning. Sorta scary, but kind of exciting too!

Thanks, Fledgist! And we did make it through safely, Lisa! Our neighborhood has been filled with the sound of chainsaws lately as they're clearing out debris.
