Debbie Cousins's Journal, 03 November 2022

Walked 1.3 miles yesterday, doing laps in my house. Going to try to increase my walking "normal" to 1.5 miles, walking 1/2 mile at a time, 3x during the day. Everything is moving along quite nicely. Knees just a mild irritation, but not hurting enough to keep me from walking. Recording what I eat. Drinking my water. Limiting my Diet Coke, getting in my 20g Fiber daily, having fruits and vegetables daily. Still need to find a way to increase my Protein. Many days it's only in the 40's and it should be a bout 80 grams for my age and weight. Always room for improvement in some area.

Having a productive morning so far! Yesterday, I got our new Christmas tree put in our new rotating stand. I put it together and splayed all the branches so it actually looked like a Christmas tree. Put it in the playroom for now, undecorated, to get it out of the way for next week's dinner party. I will have it up and decorated before Thanksgiving.

I actually got the vacuum out this morning! That's an accomplishment. I vacuumed the back entryway, pantry and storage half of the kitchen. Going to do short stints all day to get all the vacuuming done. Also making Chinese Casserole for lunch today. We eat it every other week because my husband loves it so much.

Three days behind us, three days ahead until Monday weigh-in. Plenty of time to get back on track or go for a strong finish!

So far, I'm on target to reach my average daily calorie goal of 1,550 to 1,650/day. That's WITH including crème Brulee that my daughter is making today. I know, I know, I said I was going to tell her I didn't want any, and I did that. But, then, when I made the decision to have a higher-calorie week, I figured it would be a great time to fit it in, IF she was going to make it. I asked her, and she was, so I'll be fitting in the 310 calories for four out of the 7 days this week. Since I've accommodated for it, I don't feel like I'm "cheating" on my diet. I really think that allowing myself occasional splurges is partly responsible for me being able to stay on track so well. I don't feel like I am deprived and go hog wild!

Have a great day, everyone!

Debbie, walking gets the blood flowing which cleans up (fat) and helps remove excess (fat). This is one of the things I think about that helps to keep me motivated. Hope it helps you. Have a great day. :-)
