Debbie Cousins's Journal, 19 October 2022

Woohoo! I think I might be able to call this a whoosh. Tottering on the edge of venturing into the 220's. I'm getting there.

Yesterday was a planned high-calorie day. Instead of eating just half of the Pecan Pancakes, I decided the night before to eat all three of them, and I was able to work it into my caloric intake, still keeping it under 2,000 calories. Because of our other plans yesterday, I ended up getting the pancakes at 10:30am for "lunch." I ate 1-1/2 of them then, and had the other half at 12:30pm. Ate my butter beans for dinner, as usual.

My daughter made crème brulee for a friend yesterday and asked me if I would try it because she was afraid she had messed it up somehow. Since I had already had my calorie allotment of calories, I only ate one bite to be able to tell her it was just fine, and I put the rest in the freezer to eat today. I will be able to fit it in today, and still stay right around 1,1400 calories. I was tempted to eat the whole thing yesterday and just put it on today's food journal. But, that wouldn't have been honest.

I thank the Lord that my weight is moving down again. I must admit that it is EASIER to thank Him when I am losing than when I am staying the same, or even gaining. I try to "in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God concerning you." Mostly, I am thankful that He has given me the motivation and determination to stay on this diet (yes, still not a lifestyle) since June 23rd (almost four months!). WOW! That's almost a third of a YEAR! I would really, really, like to be able to report next June that I've stayed the course for a whole year!

Wow, you certainly are right on the edge. So happy for you. Please don't get discouraged if it continues to go up and down. Mine is. P.S. Our daughter is very sick.

Yes, @Snowwhite100, did you not see my response to your message last week. Actually, it was a response to YOUR response on my Journal. So sorry things have taken a bad turn for her. She's hung on for quite a long time since her diagnosis!

You can do it for a whole year, and then it will be a lifestyle, not a diet.

If you don’t mind…why the high calorie day?
19 Oct 22 by member: ABTS1234
@ABTS1234, a high calorie day can actually speed up weight loss. It makes your body think, "Oh, there's plenty of food coming - I guess I can let go of some of this fat I've been holding on for a famine." At least, that's what I've heard.
