HCG made my hair fall out! the 500 calories a day diet was a shock to my system and the hair loss began about 3 months after I finished my phase 4. On recommendation from my GI doctor and dermatologist I had to increase my caloric intake and as well as bulk up on supplements to stop the damage. Thankfully, it is not a permanent condition and this has taught me a valuable lesson. Fad or trendy diets can all have serious consequences. The 20 lbs I lost in the month was not worth the toll it took on my body. I was already self-conscious about my body image and to add hair loss to the mix nearly put me over the edge. In healing my broken metabolism I did gain back 10 of the 20 lbs that I have lost but my hair is growing back nicely and I am focused on eating healthy foods and exercising. Slow and steady is always a better choice.
