I guess I'm lucky we don't celebrate Halloween here, no temptations. You are doing great Deb, keep it up.

Deb you are doing great!!!!, I am going to fight the statistics this year. On an in Average in the US most people gain 10 pounds over the holidays. My last two holidays, I actually lost 5 pounds being more active due to the cool down in Florida

Actually, I get tired of all the sweets really fast. They now make me sick to my stomach. Eating rich high fat does the same. Last year it really wasn't that hard except I had to at least taste the pies and goodies that the grandkids made as they were proud of them. Of course wanted gramma's opinion. They were really good but had a little kid's stomach ache after. Not nice. I'm a sucker though for pumpkin. My fav breakfast is leftover pumpkin pie. My kid's dad (married 22 years now ex) thought I was nuts making pumpkin pie all year for me to eat for breakfast, he is not a fan. Made some last year with a sweet winter squash, ground sunflower and flax seed crust and no sugar, just left all sweetener out. The flax seed adds the oil for the crust. It was really good. Reminds me I should make one this weekend, have to buy sun seeds I'm out.

Thanks, everyone! Jeri, that no sugar squash pie sounds yummy. I prefer to avoid anything with added sugar now.

Pumpkin isn't as sweet. I't good with pumpkin too just not as sweet. Acorn and delectica squash is usually so sweet. Can't believe I grew up eating them baked with brown sugar added to them and ate them that way until last year. I've no idea where my made up directions went so will have to start anew and I will share when it's perfected again.

I totally understand about the holidays and the weight gain. I have the same problem. I'm making a promise to myself that this year will be different. I did really good the other day when i went into Walgreens and seen all the little pumpkin shaped candy, i love those, but i turned away and went down a different aisle. Gave myself a pat on the back for a change. Deb_N you can make it through the holidays without the weight gain, I have faith in you, and so do many of the others on here.
