DP I know you hate comments but I have to say your trend is going in the right direction!! Maybe you owe it all to Jack? Extra walks or something? 😂😂 Idk. I’m sure you must like the loss every day!! 👍🏻

I restarted May 16. I read Atomic Habits. I decided to make a lot of changes- mostly involving using my time wisely. Jack certainly adds to the calorie burn though. Already had an hour walk this morning though I think he was disappointed that I wouldn't let him swim. Only got his paws wet.

Labs do love water! I like Wifey's idea, Jack would just love it. Hahaha

I would, Wifey- except I don't quite trust him so even at the lake he was on a leash. I think he would swim away. He also got a little over excited when in the water last weekend and tried to drown a chihuahua- seriously held it under water (it was the owners fault. She was drunk and wanted them to be friends and swim together) Sorry if I already posted about it. He also got too rambunctious and nipped at my nephew. At this point I am praying he isn't a jerk and it is just new surroundings. I do think if I had a swimming pool, we'd be out there all day together.

gah, the owners who think their dogs should be friends with everyone drives me crazy. My first dog was very friendly in our own house but hated random dogs coming over during our walks thinking they're besties. your pup might just be adjusting :-) I hope it works out!

Hey DP- At your suggestion I started reading Atomic Habits a half hour ago. Promising, for sure. I felt really sorry for his parents during the early part of the introduction. And the author, too, of course.

Hope you like it, Tom. I found it to be a game changer.

If you throw a stick out in the water, he'll swim out to get it and bring it back to you, so you won't have to worry about him swimming away. He is, after all, a retriever. As for disposition, I've never known a lab to be aggressive, he was probably just overly excited with your nephew. In my experience, they tend to just want to please you.
