Work in progress. Slow weight loss is frustrating but still satisfying. One pound down is better than any pound up, so I will just grin and own it. Doing more of the calorie cycling, high and low calorie days. I have read calorie cycling is supposed to be helpful in losing and keeping the weight off. Also, trying out another tip that eating the protein first before carbs helps slow the carb spikes in your system. Since basically cutting out grains a long time ago, other than an occasional l/2 cup of oatmeal for fiber, spikes from those kind of carbs aren't an issue. Not saying I will never have another roll, pizza slice, etc. Just not now. Have too far to go to mess around. Really want to hit one-derland! Still working out with my weights, walking more, Wii tennis, and low impact exercises. Thanks to all my FS buddies who are helping and supporting me. I so appreciate you!

You are doing incredible! I love your determination. I think there is something to that calorie cycling. Unfortunately, I do it too often, and not intentionally - go way too high on the spike days and not low enough on the negative cycle. Just lucky I burn most of it off these days. Glad to hear that you are not rigidly rejecting the notion of some occasional simple carbs in the future. Enjoy the journey. Don't let those next 20 pounds dictate whether you are a beautiful, intelligent and compassionate person; you already are those things.

Thank you so much DairyKing and TAIC69! I still try to stay under my RDI on spike days, then really low on my low days. Hoping to shake this mess off, one way or another! It has been hanging on far too long :)

wow watch out for that caloric intake in prime rib---blew my mind at the quantity contained there in---going to try your premise of protein before carbs and see if i detect any differential in metabolic activity!

Yep.. I would love to weigh in a year from now and be 12lbs down instead of up. Slow and steady and consistent.

Ed..I have only had sirloin, no prime rib. The sirloin was when I had a night out at a restaurant, Applebees. Seldom do I eat at a restaurant now :) When I do, I am super careful. I actually like cooking healthy at home.

Kattay - great attitude. Each of us is different and we have to find what works for us! I have had to find acceptable substitutes for the items that I miss the most. There are some great recipes out there, if you love to cook.
