LaShuan's Journal, 21 July 2009

Yesterday was a good day. I increased my weights successfully, but I am still a little sore. I met my goal for drinking water and I stayed within my calorie range. I did notice the scale move up a little bit but I am not worried since there are so many positive things that could be attributed to.

I still have not figured out whether my body is athletic or normal, but I am feeling like I should just pick one and stick with it. I will continue to take both measurements for the rest of this week and then pick one next week. I am leaning toward the athletic since my resting heart rate is 60 and I workout at least 7 hours a week for the last 9 weeks. We will see..

Yesterdays workout:
65 minutes on the treadmill (30 @ 4.0speed & 35 minutes @ 3.5)

3 sets of 15 reps with 10 free weights (one in each hand)
3 sets of 50 reps with 8 lb free weight (arms)

Measurements (Athletic)
Body Fat% - 27.8
Muscle Mass% - 40.5
Body Water% - 54.9

It could of gone up because of water intake? think you can work out how fit you are by measuring how long it takes for your body to get back to resting heart beat rate. Ive actually asked about this at two gyms but they dont seem too keen on working it out they just keep saying " you know ur getting fitter as your heart rate takes longer to increase when working out" which to be honest doesnt give an ideal indication which you can measure to see a difference. I would say your athletic given the amount of time your working out? but of course im no expert in this area at all , however its a ot more than a normal person does. Well done on all hat exercise your doing fabulous xxxx

Yes, it could be because of the increase in fluid intake, it may also be because I recently increased my weights and my muscles may be swelling. Thats a really good point about the heart rate, I have noticed that it takes longer for my heart rate to rise....how ever usually I increase the difficulty of my workout the next day. Thanks for your support.
