Debbie Cousins's Journal, 27 April 2022

YIKES! Not drinking water. Not limiting Diet Coke. Not getting in 5 servings of fruits and veggies. Not resisting desserts and salty foods. Not walking nearly as much since the price monitoring jobs dried up. I could be walking back and forth through my house, but I haven't been doing that, either. Not in a good place right now. Praying for God's guidance on what plan to follow to get my life back on the right track!

A feeling I know well. Please don’t beat yourself up. Look ahead and not back. Soon you figure out what will work for you again. You got this

Not sure what's going on, I am in the same situation. We'll figure it out.

Maybe listen to your audiobooks on mini habits again? The fact that you're still here on FS and still desiring to do better is a GOOD thing!! Don't give up, girl💙👍🤗

Debbie, you inspired me to "just move more". To set baby goals, and get out of your own way! The only constant in life is Change! A door closed, don't lock all of the windows to keep new opportunities out, by thinking negatively! Prayers for your new game!

I find that on days I'm our shopping/ running errands I get in at of steps. Even if you're not doing your price monitoring job get out and walk around a mall or someplace similar. It gets you out and you get steps in.

*nods*. I agree. Just start it out slow, and build up from there.

saying a prayer for you right now ❤️

You are in my prayers, Debbie. You CAN do it. Walk around the block, ask if any neighbour or friend will be a walking buddy. I believe in you🙏🏻🇨🇦

If I were you I would write down what I wanted to achieve, from looking at your concerns, and attack one at a time. I would start with drinking at least 80 ounces a day of water (four 16oz bottles).

Start small and tackle one problem at a time.

Sending hugs. So many things deviate us from our "plan". Hoping you find your path to get back on it soon. I can't figure out why I've been in such a downward spiral, but like you I'm still here and persevering for a better today.

Do all those fall to the wayside simultaneously? Or one today, another tomorrow? Do you have problems with an all or nothing mentality? That is, “Oh, no, I ate some chips, the whole day is ruined!” Remember Nike’s slogan: just do it. If you fall down, get up. Every time you fall down. There’s really no other choice if you want to make progress. And we all fall down multiple times weekly, sometimes multiple times daily. Just try to keep those falls to a minimum. And good luck! And please wish me luck as well.

I've been having the same issue! The good news is we are not clueless, we DO know what we need to do. So let's just do it - you too, Tink1953!

I understand. I gave up sodas so there is no diet Coke in the house, but I am struggling with drinking enough water as well. Just keep trying!

Perhaps a trip to the doctor's office and labs done to check your blood sugar, cholesterol level, and kidney function would give you the jolt that you need.
