Sure, why not? Gain 4 pounds for no apparent reason, lose 3.5 for no apparent reason, it makes as much sense as an Alice in Wonderland story.

That I finally purged the 9 billion mg of salt I ate this week? Maybe. That I had some relief of being backed up? Perhaps. Or maybe just the WTF factor as I've started to call it affectionately!

It's looking like I'll be down about 4 pounds for the month of June if I don't balloon up 14 pounds for no good reason in the next 48 hours. That's a pound a week, and having started June at 210, I'll take it. It isn't the 201 I had planned for, but I learned this month that plans must be adjusted. Attitudes, too. LOL.

Not freaking out for missing my goal for the first time since I started this sometimes frustrating journey, and that alone is a win.

I'll take my net loss with gratitude and see what next month brings, only without the obsession and stress that it took to get here this month.

I think Maud may have something there.

Hahaha, Maud. You crack me up. Dom, I am just relieved for you that everything didn't stay wonkie and you can relax a bit. Taking your net loss with gratitude sounds like a sane plan :-)

If you follow your plan consistently if no 100%, it all evens out in the end.

You used to be much more..."muchier." You've lost your muchness.

By the way, a very merry unbirthday to you! (*and many more*)

Puh, I like myself better a little less muchier, don't you? It's the new "less is more" me. Less stress, more whatever happens, happens. I believe my higher power is testing my ability to roll with the punches and the WTF factor. Facing a 4 hour Strategic Planning Meeting at The Old Spaghetti Factory today. Went to their website and chose the least offensive of the few choices we are offered and it's the pasta with meat sauce for 610 calories. The house salad is 310. Ugh, NO thank you! I'll bring my Bolthouse Dressing (35 cal/serv) instead! So yeah, I'm still making an effort, I'm just not freaking out about having to eat 610 calories for lunch (a week ago, I would have been). But that doesn't mean I have to settle for their sucky 310 calorie house salad! Hah! So baby steps for Dom. Being relaxed a little doesn't mean throwing caution to the wind and choosing Sicilian Meatballs option 1040 calories - yikes!

Great call for a lunch choice. Totally ticks me off though that finding a reasonably healthy salad choice in a restaurant has become damn near impossible. Sometimes I just WANT a salad, ya know? If it's really warm outside or when I want something that won't make me feel sluggish and need a nap a salad will fit the bill. But NOT a 310 house salad that is probably mostly cheese, croutons, bacon bits and other non-salady items. It's really become a peeve of mine ;-) OK, that and "iceberg wedge salad". Really??? A quarter head of iceberg lettuce drowned in blue cheese and you call THAT a salad?? Rant over ;-)

Glad you aren't stressing as much. Love, live, and learn what is best for your self. Love that WTF!!! If you don't mind, I am soooo going to use it! Exercising more, watching every D### calorie and major portion control and some weeks its either nothing, more, or a tiny drop. Blame it on the water weight, fat being replaced by muscle,.. Whatever.... I Want Results!! I know it won't go overnight, day, month, or three months because I put in on over the years by a lot of bad choices, some I didn't know better lol. Gotta say it feels good to see numbers I haven't seen since my first child pregnancy and wearing smaller clothes ...so I keep working at it! My rant is over too!

Vickie, the 310 house salad wasn't even cheese or bacon bits, it was ALL dressing and iceberg crap lettuce! Bringing my own dressing made that salad a 35 calorie salad, thank you very much! In fact, I had two of them, with extra dressing if you check my food log and even gave me calorie room for some bread, so how do you like that! Hah!

Kattay, I could have written your remark. Water weight, fat vs muscle, didn't put it on overnight, sheesh, are you channeling my brain today or what?? I WANT RESULTS! God, you sound exactly like I do! We should start a freakin club. Oh we did - it's the bitch, piss and moan club: Membership Roster: 2. The BPM Club meets here every day, forever until further notice. ROFL. At least we have each other. Let's just keep at it and keep fighting the good fight, and in the meantime, I decided to have a freakin dinner roll and not beat myself up for doing it since I'm still within my calories by a mile. Gluten, schmuten. Being 95% gluten free for the past 10 months didn't do jack for me, so how will a dinner roll kill me? I feel oddly liberated.

You gluten eating, salad bending renegade! Seriously, it seems this break will be good for both body and soul. BTW - THANK YOU for mentioning Bolthouse. I hadn't heard of it before and it's become a staple in very quick order.

Hey, you didn't rock the boat and got comments. Gotta love it.

Heres to the Good Fight!! And we are in FS club with other fighters! Whats life without enjoying good times with friends and family. I refuse to let a "diet"(I'm on a healthier lifestyle, not short term diet) dictate to me that I can't enjoy major milestones in my family's life or dinner at a restaurant or maybe even a dinner roll. Healthier choices, Moderation, and getting tighter with exercise and calories the next day or week, will offset any dinner roll! I'm going for healthier, not miserable!

Lost your 'muchness'. :) I love that. I had a music theory teacher whose name was essentially unpronounceable. He'd had to escape from one of those south east asian regimes who was killing off their people in droves. He liked to make up words, not because he liked to, but he was on the spot teaching the class and couldn't take the time in the midst of a discussion to get exactly the right word. (I think I caught some of that.) The series I remember was "Smooth, smoothy, smoothier, and smoothiest." You were a good man 'Benny'. I hope you're okay. You were only a few years older than me. I'll never forget the birds nest soup... freak. :D

Smooth, smoothy, smoothier, and smoothiest are not real words????? (*shocked*)

Word! (Ha)

I can do all of the above from one day to the next. I am with you in that i don't understand it at all. The scale is constantly playing tricks and i catch myself changing the batteries more often so i can get a true reading. It is the yo-yo ride i can never seem to conquer!
