Deb_N's Journal, 26 June 2014

Hello! I am fluctuating again, went up .2 pounds. I am seriously thinking to not do my weigh ins except on days that I have to report for my challenges. I'm also thinking to take a break from my dieting, to just maintain myself. I bought a new dress for a special occasion five weeks from now, and I don't want to pay to alter it! Have a great day, everyone!

Thank you for all the support and comments. It means a lot to me! ♥

I think you're on the right track... that scale can be treacherous with the mind set.

i weigh myself, but only record once a week. i might weigh myself 3 x a week. there are a ton of fluctuations, as you know. i don't want to get bogged down with them. are you on a special, restrictive diet? my plan is to eat like this forever. i'm kind of doing a cico type diet. i eat what i want (trying to keep my carbs at 50%) and stay within my rdi. no, i guess i am making healthier choices with eating. still, it might be good to try maintenance. just don't go overboard. moderation in all things, including moderation.

I think you should calculate then what's your RDI when maintaining your weight so you don't go overboard and eat too much which is tempting off course. Best of luck :-)

I think a dress (smaller than you can fit into now) is a great reward for success. :)

good idea to stop dieting for a short time to watch your eating without diet , but i think in this time you need to record your weight daily to avoid a big deviation , and good luck :)

Deb_N ,,, I still am unsure what the heck is going on with me ,,, but even up to being in the hospital I worked hard to try to keep my low carb way of eating on track ,,, since I lost from 244 -219 25 lbs in which Im very grateful for and learned the dangers of high sugary foods and how cancer loves sugar and more then not enjoyed my new way of eating ,, but had stopped losing weight ,,, so after the operation I become so nauseated very sick to my stomach and couldn't seem to eat high protein ,, hmmm ?? regardless of way ,, and nottttt preparing enough foods ready for me whil I was recoping so by my own request I would ask for a bowle of cearly it was so so tasteful and satifieing and easy to do ,, and Im losing Im am watching my portions for sure and fear comes on me when I do any forms of bread but doing it careful now I'm losing again ,, today I was 214 wow <3 you have a blessed day <3 I'm very greatful for you <3 I Praise the Lord your on here <3

Thanks, Bill. I'm not leaving FS, just not going to weigh in every day of the week. Also, I'm not going to push myself as hard. I feel kind of burned out. I always stay up too late and never take naps, even when I lost sleep at night. I have a lot of stress these days, so I am going to be kinder to myself, go to bed earlier and get enough sleep. I think August 4th will be a good day to get going again. :)

You know sometimes you have to step back and reevauate and go from there.

I couldn't cope with the fluctuations of weighing every day, and I think once a week will keep you on track. Instead of dieting or not dieting, why not set your calories at maintenance level and still record, that should help to keep on track and not go overboard.

Very true about stepping back.

I agree with what's been said, especially about setting a specific date to get back on track. Hugs & Best Wishes, Glammer
