Friday Morning and wouldn't you know it, my dogs woke me up AGAIN, before my alarm went off. I actually didn't set my alarm, hoping to sleep in a bit because I do not have to be at the office as early as usual since I'll be traveling from home to see my client today. So ... no sense in trying to tell them to lay down (which I did of course 2 or 3 times to no avail) so I got up. The good news is I'll get home early today so maybe a nap and Mom is coming home tonight which means the dogs will be separated into two bedrooms instead of one and maybe, just maybe I will get to sleep in a tad tomorrow morning!!!

Tried KFC Grilled Chicken yesterday. I actually liked it! Much better than their regular chicken. It has always been much too greasy for me. Since yesterday was a bit on the trying side with the propane "crisis" and I was late getting home hubby asked me to stop and bring dinner home. I also had lunch out, a no-shell chicken taco salad. So, calories were up around 1800 ... of course one part of my brain is screaming the words "panic! panic! panic!" and another part of my brain is calmly saying "this is exactly where you need to be, you are working on respecting your hunger and learning to expand your food choices." Deep breath in and out this morning as I step on my friend Frank ... 180.2!! Very interesting. And, I am hungry this morning. Not just thirsty because I already drank some water. Actually hungry. I continue to learn on this path!!

I can hear my elliptical machine calling me so I better close this off and have our morning conversation. Y'all have a great day ... keep persevering in your respective journeys ... and celebrate your successes!!!

You are so close! Great Job!!! I tried that KFC chicken once. The grilled I mean. It wasnt bad. It was more calories than I heard Oprah say it was though so I was a bit mad about that. I havent been hungry all this week in the mornings, that is new for me. I want to be hungry in the morning, I use to be ,but I am thirsty which I havent been in a couple weeks. I love water but I think the iced coffees were taking the place of all my water. I just had one fo those and 1 bottle of water a day and was fine. Today I will try to drink more water. Anyways I kinda went off there for a minute lol. Just wanting to say Job well done!!!!

Thank you! Thank you! I feel close too. You know what else? I feel "normal" like I'm not a "fat" person anymore!! It is a very good feeling. Yes, drink lots of water ... it helps. Weird how our bodies and hunger patterns change over time, isn't it? Again, thanks for the kudos!!

That hunger is your bodies way of hanging onto what you are losing. Bad body....But that is what happens. Even though you are eating enough calories your body still does not like change, that is why it is so hard to lose it at times. In a way it is trying to sabotage you. Just keep hanging in there, you are doing great. 7's are close. There will be a happy dance. :-)

I didn't think it was as greasy as KFC's other chicken. I have not eaten it in years just because it was so greasy ... did not sit well on my tummy. Maybe I was just really craving something akin to junk food!!

I appreciate the support and encouragement Mo. But I disagree about the hunger being my body's way of hanging onto what I am losing. A big part of what got me into this mess ... of lose/gain/lose/gain cycle is not respecting true hunger. My calculations put me at about 2400 calories a day to maintain at 175 ... figuring in my activity level, age, and gender. So, even at 1800 I have a good deficit going ... and of course some days I am hungrier than others. For me it has been important to determine between true hunger (my body needs fuel), thirst, mindless hunger, or I just want a "taste" of something in my mouth. I actually think being hungry is a good sign that my body has become a calorie burning machine!! I just need to make sure I am giving it the right kind of fuel.

I should have said me, not you, when I was relating my theory on hunger because that is what I think my body does to me and what I have read in many articles. We are all different, how our bodies process what we eat, our genes, and all of our bodies react differently. I find what I said is what I experience, it was not automatically what you experience. Sorry about that. You have made so much progress in identifying your hunger, good for you. :-)

Thanks for the clarification. No worries.

1800 calories would be pretty good for me. I don't know if you are referring to squeezing in the KFC new chicken and other items into your available choices by capping the overall total calories but, if it is, I like that way of thinking. I've wanted to try that new chicken, it sounds far healthier. After today's movie though, I think I'll wait a few days. :-)
