@tjreid175, back in september I was on prilosec, metoprolol and simvastatin. Stopped taking everything October 5th. I feel so much better off the meds. I just thought I was getting old and really feeling it while I was on meds. Turns out that me feeling poor in general was a side effect of the meds. It's amazing!

YAY for you. I was able to get off most of my blood pressure medicine but not all of it. I agree - getting off the drugs makes you feel better.

Hey, I've been missing your name in the journals! Glad to see it (and successes)!

That's great that you're able to get off the meds. Hopefully in time I can do the same for most of mine...between meds and supplements in the morning it's like eating breakfast from the pillbox.

Exceptional bp. :) Have they checked blood sugar recently?

I havent tested my blood sugar all month actually. I need to make an appointment with my doc to see if he will write a prescription for the strips because they are just too dang expensive at full price. Not testing might have been a good thing for me though. In the past I may have gotten a little bit obsessed with checking it which was causing me to make unnecessary changes to my diet. Blood sugar is weird, it goes up when your sick and for other non-food related reasons. Right now I feel like I am doing all the right things to keep my numbers in check. I just hope I find out that I am right once I start testing again.

Maybe you should just sidle up to someone who you know is diabetic and say, "Hey, buddy. Can I bum a test strip?" :D
