I'm on the indirect fruits and veggies plan. I let the critters eat them, then I eat the critters. :) Oh, I like them well enough. I love fruit and I like my salads, but bird, bunny, and moose is far tastier.

Cloudy day here today. I'm looking forward to the weekend (which starts tomorrow for me this week). Packing some fruit and a chunk of roast for the trip this weekend. I should be able to keep it under control just fine. It sounds like there will be only one meal that I will not be planning myself. I can still be choosy about what I eat from that though... maybe... if I want to. :)

I have 10 days left on my bulk. Have my calorie plans figured out for the beginning of June. I'm seeing very little difference in how I look compared to 3 months ago though I've put on just a little under 10 pounds. It was nice and progressive and I learned a lot. Maybe I should cut. Maybe I should just recomp. Too many decisions!!!

That's what it's all about for me. Learning.

Quote for the day:
"I love to experiment. I read everything... try everything.... When I find something that works for me, I grab onto it and watch closely. When it ceases to work, I toss it and move on to the next thing. I try not to be dogmatic about anything... anymore.

Dogma requires a disregard of feedback, so it is a limiting factor to discovery. I believe everything works for a while and that some things work better than others. I believe there is a general similar responsiveness to stimulus in all people, but that each person has enough uniqueness to require experimentation. Each one of us is responsible for our own experiment. What works for me may not work for you, but the basics are the same for everyone." ~ NorthernMusician (Yeah. Pretty full of myself, lol.)

We're all different. Women vs men is a perfect example. What's good for the goose isn't necessarily good for the gander. They're saying that when they did clinical trials and research on drugs, they used the statistics for men and applied it to both genders. To discover years later that women have different side effects and at times theirs are more severe.

There are all kinds of variables I don't think they understand. They do a drug trial in isolation, declare it safe, and then prescribe it to a person who already has several prescriptions. Not too helpfu, but then the numbers of prescription drugs are out of this world. Have a problem? Think you have a problem? We've got a pill for that.

I like to take what works and chuck it when it doesn't work anymore. I've learned that there are too many variables in life for me, at any point, to say this is the only way to do things. EVER.

America - We want you to be sick because we hava a pill for your ill. Being healthy is for suckers with no health insurance.

@Alexis. I think we were designed to always be dealing with something. Wow, @Brent. You may be a cynical as me. At least in Canada we have equal access to truly mediocre health care. I was diagnosed three times with a bad back. I would do something as simple as cough and my diaphragm would seize so hard I couldn't breath for about a minute. "Lose weight," they said "we may need you to see a surgeon" they said. Fourth time I said "Look. I'm asthmatic and nobody has even listened to my lungs. How about you take 20 seconds out of your busy day and listen to my lungs!" Walking pneumonia. Yay for universal health care.

Oh Brent... don't get me started. NM... at least you don't have to pay the premiums, deductibles and co-pays to get a piss poor diagnosis.

Oh geeeeezzz, that paints a pretty dismal picture for universal health care. Yay Obama care! USA USA USA :P

I will be one of the few who says Obamacare is good. My premium went down and coverage got better. You've got to be in certain income (low), which I am. So I have benefited this year but who knows what's going to happen next year. Won't go there as my head isn't working very well lately. And don't need that push over the edge.

^^there is no good in borrowing trouble you don't currently have. I'm glad Obamacare has worked for you.

I love the quote, I'm using it with full credit to NM of course. And the indirect fruits and veggies plan, that is hilarious. Enjoy your early weekend!

What many people do not understand about the plan (Obama) is that many people pay full boat and all of them pay a good chunk of it. Far more than medicare. I was unable to get insurance or my husband as we could not get approved due to preexisting conditions. Prior to that, they raised it to 1600 a month, then up to 3,000 a month about 4 years ago and we dropped out. I have some medial issues that are complex. I am right near the Cleveland Clinic as well as another huger system, University Hospitals that are associated with the Case Medical school. So, a lot of research goes on her, top brains are recruited from all over the world. MANY people travel here for care. And with all of that, certain specialists I needed to see would NOT see me, even though I offered to mail the check in advance and they could cash it now or put it on a credit card now. They flatly refused as they were parts of these huge networks in our area. I almost died, several times. It is really sad when people cannot even BUY health care or pay cash. More aces sable health care became a necessity as the providers refused care to so many. Granted I understood, some had no means to pay, and were declined. But I offered to pay in advance. That is pretty scary. Like all programs, there is plus and minus for all of us. I was scheduled to die, so I of course benefitted from being ABLE to purchase insurance, which we pay for, every month. And gladly do so. Sorry to comment on a political football. I know this ticks some off. But if it was you or someone you loved, you would feel differently.

Oh- and I did not mean that people that could not pay should be denied care. Not at all. It is an imperfect system- when the world is turning down cash, there is a problem. Best to you all!

I'm with you Northern Musician. Vegetables aren't food. Vegetables are what food eats. I do eat vegetables for the fiber, as filler & for the nutrients. I eat meat for the flavor.

Reading this posts and comments about the vegetables and meat etc. takes me back to a term paper I wrote once about diets. Anyone ever tried the hunter gatherer diet?

TX. You're absolutely right. I like to live by the rule "Do no harm". Survival is required though. So I do what's best and hunt the biggest thing I can find... preferably moose. I figure at least I'm taking only one thing instead of being responsible for the death of thousands and thousands of innocent, immovable vegetables. Plus think of all the lives I'm saving.

Tarzie I am vaguely aware of it. I've been meaning to look into it. Another extreme I believe. I think it's an offshoot of Paleo, if I'm not mistaken. I tend to the warrior side. No one would ever accuse me of being a vegetarian.
