squigglywiggly's Journal, 05 April 2011

Another 100 grams down. Yesterday I upped my carbs a bit to see if I can still lose - I need more veggies LOL.

Yes I am cold, it is cold and wet outside. We are hoping the rain won't make the sewerage problems worse. Otherwise we will all end up using chemical toilets or making our own.

I still feel like I am getting a cold. Stacking firewood for our non-existent fireplace in the rain and cold didn't help too much but the wood we bought is really good and dry so we didn't want it sitting in the rain for a week...

I might do some baking later to try to warm the house up a bit. It would help to have fast things to grab when I am insanely hungry too.

Things I am thankful for...

That our house doesn't leak!
That our toilet still flushes - for now LOL
That I have warm clothes to wear
That hubby can get a bit warmer at his work
That his work are organising our fireplace - and I doubt they will want one of their workers to get cold and sick - so it might help speed up the process
That my parents managed to get a plumber to work today on their loo that is no longer usable thanks to stuffed drains
That my oncoming cold is not too bad yet LOL
That we have food to eat.

*** That I have wonderful friends on here that make me laugh, and give me the warm fuzzies with their kind words and love - big hugs!!

Some good news - a glazier is finally coming to fix our broken windows tomorrow afternoon. Yay! Hope they dress warmly LOL

Oh, Squiggs I didn't know that the windows hadn't been fixed yet! My oh my! Glad they are on the way now! YAY!! Praise God!

Yup we are glad! One is so damaged that hubby says he could easily just push the glass out if he wanted to. Not the most secure LOL. At least we don't need to worry about heat leaking out the cracks :p

Thinking about you squiggs. I admire your perseverance under such aweful circumstances. I know you have lots to be grateful for because you are alive and healthy but your living conditions sound aweful. You are an amazing woman and you and your husband are doing a great job.

I have a lot of respect for you. To be able to focus on the positive and keep your priorities straight in the midst of such daunting circumstances is something to be really proud of. Keep on keeping on.

Thanks Sarahsmum, I don't feel amazing, just trying to get through one day at a time. I am so proud of how fabulous my husband has been. Others have much worse living conditions, we are among the lucky ones LOL.

Thanks exemplaryangel, focussing on the positive stops me getting too down - usually.

Goodness my friend. Another 100g (by the way, what does that equate to my measurements?). Anywho - congrats! Hoping they get your home heated really quick so you can thaw out. If anything - I am sending you plenty of warmth from my part of the world.
