Ruhu's Journal, 15 May 2014

It's amazing what a good night's sleep can do for one's mood, energy level & outlook. I'm so grateful to have slept really well last night. I've been to my HIIT workout, restocked our groceries, tidied the house & will hit the book work next. This afternoon I have my bi-weekly call with my health coach. While our focus there too is on my healthy eating & living journey, I can happily report that my weight is again right in the goal range I'm aiming for. Even with some episodes of overeating, the fact that my weight stays fairly consistent, tells me also that it's a good place for me since I can easily, for the most part, maintain. Between this and the work I'm doing to learn about & live mindfully, beating myself up about any ATF indiscretions has become a thing of the past… and for me, that is a wonderful, freeing feeling. While I continue to try to lesson the importance of that number on the scale and focus instead on health & happiness, that number will always have some importance to me… just not define who I am nor impact my mood too much. I couldn't be happier about that.

Even though I just got back from a trip, DH & I are off for an overnight Sat night to see Bruce Springsteen in concert with 2 of our dearest friends and then stay overnight nearby as it's about 1 1/2 hour away. I'm starting to feel like I may truly have been "Born to Run"! Even though DH was "Born in the USA", we'll head back home early on Sun as DH heads overseas for the week.

But now it's time for me to get on with my day, which I'll start in prayer --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And for this one day, and each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way. I'm so grateful for each of terrific you, my family & IRL friends, a great night's sleep, hot bulletproof coffee, and having the health & wealth to live this life I love! xoxox

You sound so happy - I'm smiling ear to ear. Bruce... that's the guy AKA the Boss, right? Sounds like fun. I've not been to many concerts. Something to think about.
