Counting calories again is not so much fun but it's the only way I can eat in a semi-regular way and still lose weight. Even allowing myself the occasional treat is possible as long as I plan and count it. I just have to realize that having a treat isn't impossible but it's in lieu of better foods that will fill me up. Being hungry is my penalty for having "empty calories". ;) Have a great day all!

The thing that's helping me is not setting my caloric goals too low. I find that if I set it higher, it has the effect that I don't really want to eat that high, and as a result, I don't. So, I lose weight. Weird, but that's how it works for me!

There were times during the winter that I was trying to eat at my "maintenance levels" and could barely do it. I was so full! I added about 1000 calories extra per *week* over my maintenance during that period and, wow, not as much fun as I'd thought. Initially it was nice but after a while it became work. I'm happy to be back down to a more normal level of eating. :)

I'm back to recording and keeping tab of my calories too! It does help to maintain a deficit, but the idea is to eat as many things that have fewer calories and keep your tummy full longer. This mostly being lean veggies such as carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, green leafy ones, etc. You can also try buttermilk or acidophilus milk, 200 ml ought to keep you satisfied for a bit and very few calories! Well these are just suggestions, you can figure out what works for you. All the best!

You hit the nail right on the head. When I'm eating "wild", I don't make my entries. I'm too ashamed. But, then I gain weight again, and go back to the fatsecret. Yes, I've found that lentils, split green peas, black beans do the trick for me, filling me up. Oh, popcorn too. But, I was on a stint of stir frying veggies, even found some tofu to throw in there. A plateful of this: bamboo shoots, broccoli, peas, carrots, etc, yeah, that'll fill you up for about zero calories. And healthy, too. All the antioxidents.
