Long walk last night, slower because my old girl was slow, I could tell starting off. She does the distance though, so not going to complain. All movement is good according to the vet. Still not sure if she was talking about me or my dog. Cold affects us all differently and despite eating more than the other dogs, has super low body fat and her little legs get stiff. Kept the VO2 up that single tiny notch, so that's good given the speed. Did 3.52 miles, got in a lot of people-watching since it was Friday night and people are out and about. Dogs may or may not be in a Japanese IG video with their lights on. Girl got annoying quickly, so we gave her one take and left on our way. I don't mind people petting the dogs or taking a picture, but they're not props. Unless it's for me. They will work for cheese or chicken, may expand that to gift cards for dog food. Since I quit walking with our super pack in Balboa Park, I'd forgotten about the tourists, and the IG/TikToc thing has only made them crazier. Almost naked lady hanging in a tree taking her pregnancy pics. Yeah, it's a thing and I have witnesses to back me up on that one. Tonight is date night and I'm really looking forward to it. It's been another exhausting week. Another person quit. Why? Their vacation request was denied and they said F it. Good for her. I'm jealous and super proud of her for taking care of herself. BF and I are working our way through the Coen brothers' library. Raising Arizona. I truly love this movie and it's been ages. Need some levity. Probably pizza. Slices, not a whole pie. I think we'll do Big Lebowski next week. Numbers. Blob up, water down, muscle down. Not worried, I actually feel pretty good at the moment as far as all parts seem to be working and nothing hurts more than normal. Been fighting the plantar's with stretches and exercises and swapping out shoes and inserts. Got some pretty lights last night. We're staying on mostly quieter streets right now with the exception of the main strip. Things are still weird. Two of my favorite houses. Raising Arizona and Big Lebowski - great choices! I try to watch them periodically as well. Have you seen one called Fandango (with Kevin Costner) - it's one of my random favourites no-one else I know seems to like or have ever heard of. Hope the stretches and swaps help to ease your Plantar's! xxx

@Nikina, never heard of it, but just read IMDB and I'll definitely add it to the list. I really hope that these quirky movies keep getting made. they are truly some of the best. not everything needs to have a superhero in it. just sayin.

@erika, this is in the South Park neighborhood San Diego, and it's a friend's house. There are three of these houses and when she bought it, it had been abandoned and used as storage for almost a decade and was a mess. Restored with love. Those windows on the turret had actually been stuccoed over and they have stained glass in them.

Restoring a wrecked house is a labor of love; I've done it twice. I don't regret it, but it sure was a lot of work. Mine were a 1785 post and beam colonial, and a 1910 bungalow. We brought them back to life!

I totally get it. We did it a couple times when I was growing up and my cottage is 101 years old. It’s always another project, but I love it most days. What’s making me crazy is all these flippers coming in and slapping white paint on the original features, thinking they’d be added value. Thankfully, people are catching on. Don’t get me wrong, if it’s your house and you want it that way, that’s fine, but the ones that are in it to make a quick buck should go elsewhere.
