Don't you just love that recognition though ~ if we're similar I used to eat that greasy food and think it was good. I knew it wasn't good for me but didn't feel able to go without it because it tasted so good. Clean eating though spotlighted just how much I don't like it now. I think the Whataburger was my first 'disappointment' - bittersweet, isn't it?

Not often you look at someone's weight bar and see "0" to go. Very cool.

It's almost shocking when what you once loved starts to tast (and look) a litte disgusting. My sister told me the other day that I eat to healthy for her!! Never would've thought anyone would ever utter those words about me! But, I guess, compared to what we ate growing up and how I've evolved over the last 10 years...I guess that's true (and it's kind of alienating from family...). I made beef chili last night for the family and I was perfectly happy with 1.5 cup serving. I remember a time I'd consider that an appetizer!!

Pls ignore my typos, obviously my cold meds are kicking in! tast=taste' and 'to healthy=too healthy'!

Lately, Iv'e been taking meals that are genearlly accepted as unhealthy and simply changing out the ingredients. Amazing the difference that it makes. Love hidden valley ranch dip on your veggies? Use fat free greek yogurt rather than sour cream and only use half the spice packet. Half the salt and a fraction of the calories...and it still tastes 90% the same! Organic no salt added pasta sauce has 1/3 the calories of regular red sauce and 1/8th the salt! etc. Good stuff.

Tricks of the trade, right Chad. Changing up and making the food we eat healthier, but still enjoyable. That fat free greek plain yogurt with 2 tsps. of sugar free lemon pudding is wicked good. Put a little bit of sugar free jello in my cottage cheese and add chia seeds. Crunchy and good.

@ Bella. You're right. Knowing absolutely what works for you is golden. @ LuC2. Nah, that wasn't the appetizer... you forgot the two slices of garlic bread. Oh... the horrible way I used to eat. @ Chad. You are so right. Usually the change is hardly noticed either, and @ rocker. I'll have to give that a try - minus the cottage cheese. It looks like I may be back on track in the morning. We'll see.

Bill. Missed you. I agree. What we remember and what we experince when we cheat are often not the same thing.

Bill. I think MM nailed it for me. Commercial foods at restaurants are absolutely crammed with sodium. That would hold the water. My understanding is 24 - 72 hours for it to clear.
