davidsprincess's Journal, 13 September 2021

Yesterday was 4 weeks since Ryan died. 4 weeks already. I think the first 3 were in a fog. Today I am going to the gym. See if I remember how to lift anything. See if I can get at least back to 185 by Halloween. Also plan to not eat everything in sight today. Fingers crossed. So far I am sticking to it but I have only been awake for 20 minutes. Happy Monday.

When my sister lost her husband unexpectedly almost a year ago, her girls started to plan getaways & activities at Anniversary dates to help "distract" her. I & our other 2 sisters joined in over this past year. It doesn't eliminate the grief or pain but helps blur it. Maybe you & your Mom could do things together or even plan something with David.

I wish I knew the perfect thing to say to support you. I’m just going to wing it. Feel your emotions and stop stuffing them down. You won’t break, I promise. The only way out is through. You are allowed to feel everything.. there’s no right way. I’m sending you strength and courage…. but it doesn’t have to be 24/7. Agree to yourself that you will put your grieving on hold for just 30 minutes every day when you are at the gym, there you can feel like that strong ass bish diablosprincess, there you can feel like yourself before the grief. You are allowed to take breaks. We are all here for you.

So sorry you have to go through this but fog is the best description of loosing someone close. Praying your fog will dissipate sooner than later but I believe you can go through it as long as you need to. Prayers for you!

How was the gym? Did you remember how to use the machines? Did you get your endorphins?

Good plan. Hope your workout felt like going home, that's how I always feel when I get back into a favorite routine. 💜💚💛

I hope you had a good workout. Lift the weights, put down the pain--at least for an hour.
