Well, I had the first weekend off that I've had for ages... and my daughter and I took full advantage of it. Of course, that means I also went a little wild on carbs. Funny how that little monster lays low, but is never really all that far into restraint. Oh, and to be clear, I don't mean my daughter. Hah! :D

Anyway, best laid plans, right? The weight number says it all.

The good news is all day today I've been back on the boat. Tomorrow will definitely show a loss...

Yes - the carb monster lays low but if we feed it even a tiny amount it wakes up big and strong!

HCB... So glad to hear you say that. I can do just a minimum of bad carbs and I blow up. Just wish the enjoyment justified the end.

Yeh, @Kathy. You're sooo right. I'm not doing this again for awhile. It *was* fun, but the whole time I was thinking how much ground I'd have to make back. Anyway, given it all to do again, I probably still would. But I must say that the foods I used to love really just don't taste quite the same any more. They've become pretty hollow. I'm liking that much. It isn't quite so hard to say no to them any more.

@HCB (and @Kathy too!) you are so right! Just a little bit really triggers the melt in resolve. It's amazing really. Anyway, I've learned to keep clear except when I allow myself. This weekend was one of those, but I did go a bit further than I'd meant to. Hah. :D THANK YOU AGAIN!

Rob, I can so relate to your splurging when having fun times with your daughter. I did exactly they same thing with my daughter on SAT, & gained 6 lbs! She lives 30 miles from us, & we've started going grocery shopping together so we can have some quality Mom-Daughter time. We started doing this thinking to save some $ on groceries, but I don't think it saves much if any. But the time we share laughing & having fun is priceless to us, so I don't care. I just have to stand stronger when she wants to take me out to eat, & not get too nutz on over eating, so I can enjoy both being with my daughter & having special treats without having the regrets later. I am encouraged by your attitude, & ability to turn this negative into a positive ~ THANKS! :)

Rob, in the big scheme of things, this blip doesn't mean a thing. You enjoyed time with your daughter, and made memories, and that is so important. And you will drop that 4 lb easy peasy when you get back on track. And yes the carb monster lingers in the background just waiting to pounce the moment you give him/her an inch. Right back on the wagon baby and you will be in control before you know it.

Hi Rob, I'm so glad you've been able to have some free time & enjoy being with your daughter. Oh yes, BEWARE THE CARB MONSTER! He may look cute & fuzzy on the outside, but he's very mean, tricky & STRONG enough to defeat even the most committed dieter with a single blow, LOL! I am small & puny, & spend lots of time hiding behind rocks & trees trying to keep out of his sight, so I can make it to my weekly training meetings of the Knights of the Healthy Table at Castle Weigh Down. I battle him when I have to, but I find it best to keep out of his reach as much as possible. ~~ Am I crazy or what? LOL! :ob

@Issy, THANK YOU! Yes, we had a great time. Altho, she's 13 and would *much* rather be with her pals... so I let her have all Friday night with them at their local hangout. Then it was my turn. :D
