Soooo, the precision of my bathroom scale (and/or the levelness of my bathroom floor) leave much to be desired in terms of helping me get consistent readings. I tried to weigh myself this morning before breakfast (maybe I need to put a tape outline on the floor so that I keep the scale in the same place whenever I take it out). Apparently it registered my weight somewhere between 140 and 144lb. I am recording 143 as that seems like a reasonable average of all the readings taken. I figure it's more likely to get a false lighter reading than a false heavier one. This also confirms my suspicions from my last weigh in, whatever my actual weight is it seems to be under 145lb. :)

**Edited to add the following**

I was just thinking about how the ticker under my forum posts says I've lost 29lb. However, that starting weight was a few weeks postpartum. My last official weigh in on this site while pregnant was 187lb . This means that since giving birth, I haven't lost only the baby weight, I've lost a whole kindergartener!!! (My almost 6 year old weighs ~42lbs) Seeing that difference feels AWESOME! Haha!!!! :-D
143.0 lb Lost so far: 29.0 lb.    Still to go: 13.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 4.7 lb a week

That is amazing! Especially when you carry them around and realize how much extra you were holding onto and how it wears you down. Congrats on being so close to your goal weight too!!! Plus my bathroom floor is the same way and we have that fake wood flooring so I just make sure to set it in the same spot. ;)

I never thought the where the scale is on the floor would make a difference, but that explains the sudden increases followed by dramatic losses. I'll pay more attention to keeping the scale in the exact same spot. Thanks!

Christian, I should know better because my floor is tile, so if I line up the scale exactly on one it should be easier to be consistent, but I don't or haven't been doing that. :P Also, my final goal is still a bit off, but now I am just a wee bit closer again. :) To help myself with motivation since the home stretch is usually slower/ harder, I chose to set milestone goals up to reaching my overarching goal of 17%BF or ~130lb. CP, the more consistent you are in your readings (time of day, state of dress, location of scale, etc.), the more reliable the data should be, theoretically. However, your weight will fluctuate during the day and during the month (perhaps more so if you are a woman because of hormonal influence). The trick is to learn your body's patterns/tendencies so that you can follow the overall trend and adjust accordingly. Also, knowing that there's margin for error helps to not get phased/ really discouraged by readings like the one I had a few days ago where it said I'd gained a little from the previous weigh in.
