How many readings do you take with the Omron? Is it the handheld model? I take enough readings to where it finally stays steady 3 times in a row. I hope that helps.

I use the "full body sensor"...it's a floor scale with an additional sensor for your hands. And I take readings inconsistently - sometimes a few days in a row, sometimes I'll go several without. Mostly looking for overall trends - it's just a little unusual to have a jump like that from one day to the next. Not worried too much about it :)

How do you like that? I have heard good and bad with that...Again, another one of my wishlists is to get a high tech scale, lol. The Tanita BC554 Ironman Glass InnerScan Body Composition Monitor Elite Series to be exact, haha. =P

Well, I like it pretty well. I don't know for sure exactly how precise it is, but the weight measurements are pretty consistent day to day, and track what I get from my "regular" scale pretty well (they each go up and down together in the same amounts, the Omron is just a pound lower...) And the body fat estimates are usually pretty consistent. This fluctuation was the biggest I've seen yet. Since I don't really have the option of getting a precise, professional measurement to confirm the accuracy of the scale, I can't say for sure. But it does seem to match up pretty well with my other imprecise estimates...
