Debbie Cousins's Journal, 05 July 2021

Yesterday, I had a rebellious day. God was still gracious enough to let me lose a little, though. I seem to have balanced out some now, weight-wise. Today begins my Food journaling. For this week, I will be doing it more from an information-gathering point of view than actual "dieting." I will still make the effort to have all of my choices be GOOD ones, but I want to find out where I AM, so I can make a determination of how I need to proceed to where I want to be. If I don't know how many calories I am taking in to maintain this weight, I won't know how many less I need to LOSE additional weight.

I realized that I left something out of my list of 11 things I need to work on - so the 12th thing is "portion size" and eating frequency. I need to cut both of those things! At someone's suggestion, I wrote down the list and am keeping it beside me in my recliner (where I spend most of my time, and where I eat all my meals). I just read the list AFTER I ate something. New policy is to read it BEFORE I prepare a meal so I can keep those things in mind to influence my choices.

My grandson has a swimming lesson tomorrow morning, which means I will have to go out and clean the pool today. Going to do that as soon as I finish writing here. It takes between an hour to an hour and a half to vacuum the bottom thoroughly and suck all the bugs off the top of the water. We haven't used it in a week, so it's pretty yukky right now! Temperatures will be in the 90's all week, so we'll probably be able to get in at least two pool sessions. Rain and thunderstorms kept us out last week except for on Wednesday.

OK, that pool isn't going to clean itself. Here I go. This is me going. Stopping typing now. Really, putting down the computer. UGH! BYE!

You're doing well! When you talked about your recliner a thought came to mind. You have spent the last couple of months being more active. Try to keep doing that. The more active you are the less you're thinking about food....and you're burning calories 😊

Good for you, getting out there and doing it. Also good for you to read your list before you prepare meals.

You are a very smart individual!!! You certainly know how to do your research and follow through! The approach you are taking is exactly how to achieve your goal(s)!!!! Have a Marvelous Day and don't forget Never Miss a Monday! You have inspired me to get off here and go outside and clean the gutters before 🌀Elsa comes in a couple days!
