Day #5. Down 11 pounds (remember, most of that will be water weight). Remembered that on Day #5 of my fast in March, I got lightheaded and was dehydrated, so I started adding salt to my water last night, and added Magnesium back into my meds regimen. The biggest challenge of the fast is the increased BOREDOM, because eating occupied a large portion of my day. To get my mind off of it, I have been being more productive around the house. Yesterday, I got an hour and a half of exercise in vacuuming and sweeping the pool. Today, I'll be doing 4 loads of laundry, MIGHT have to go into the pool again to sweep and vacuum (depending on how the algae situation is when we check it this morning). Might even vacuum. I'll also be running some errands today, which will give me something to do to take my mind off eating. God makes fasting SO easy for me because, since I got my vagus nerve cut during GBP 14 years ago, I don't experience actual PHYSICAL hunger. I DO, however, experience a persistent and frequent psychological longing for food. Thankfully, God has helped me through those bouts so far, and I pray that He will continue to sustain me over the long haul.

How long do you fast for? I’m having such a hard time finding motivation to get started and stay that way for longer than 3 days.

I am si happy for you. My electrolytes got out of balance years ago when I was following Weight Watchers. My potassium got too low because I eleminated coffee which contains potassium and drank a lot of water with no added salt.

Yes, @Broccolibabe, it is Gastric Bypass Surgery. I had it 14 years ago, lost 100 pounds and kept it off for about 8 years, then it has creeped up to as much 50 pounds - up and down.
