Swam last night because I didn't want to go walking in the dark on cinco de drinko. Decent enough, kept the current up, still a challenge to maintain controlled strokes the whole time. 827 strokes, 10.3 METs, average heart rate 151. stopped about 20 seconds right at the end due to a leg cramp. I was hydrated, but my crappy diet of the last week probably contributed. 10 minutes in peak, 20 in cardio. that's an interesting split because my METs were lower, but I didn't feel like I was thrashing either, so maybe it is an accurate reflection of the effort. I think I am going to order the larger paddles for my birthday this year. new way to punish myself. all in good fun, of course.

Another busy day, caught this little guy mid-flight from the pool. I'm not feeding them right now due to an illness so not as many. They do like the birds of paradise and the trumpet flower vines, so I still have some, just not as many as I usually do.
