John10251's Journal, 21 April 2021

I have mixed emotions about my compliance yesterday. Yesterday was my Wife's birthday, and we planned to go out for dinner. It was our first real outing since the virus interrupted everyone's life. I tried to plan for the day. I got in a decent workout in the morning. Then I had a low calorie breakfast and lunch in preparation for a big dinner. All was going to plan. She loves Mexican food and at the restaurant I was confident that I had allotted enough calories to enjoy her company, a good meal and even dessert when we returned home. When we got back home a little later than usual, I thought it was unlikely that I could get in enough steps and burn enough calories to reach all my activity goals. This morning when checking my stats I noticed that I had reached my minimum calories burned goal and was only 600 steps from reaching my step goal. I gave up too early but today is a new day and an opportunity to do better. I'm still here and feeling well. Yesterday I ate "Well" at 103% of goal, far exceeded my protein goal and missed meeting my step goal. 518kcal deficit // BF↑0.1%
152.6 lb Lost so far: 10.4 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Thanks Fritzy, It wasn't the food. I can't believe that I missed my activity goals by only 600 steps.

I missed my total caloric burn ring by 6 calories a week ago. So annoyed.

Sometimes you just have to enjoy a well cooked meal in the company of someone you love

Do not kick yourself. Life events just happen. The I,portent thing is that you just continue on as you would any other day. No remorse, no recriminations required. I hope you both had a good time. A very Happy Birthday to your wife.

The only thing you have to NOT DO is give up. Setbacks happen, but giving up is a disaster. Never give up.

A small set back, but not really because you were enjoying the important things in life. Happy wife, happy life lol. Have a blessed day. I'm not making my step count during most of my shifts. Sitting on the free way doesn't help, unless they run, but I hate to run 😂🤣

Thanks, Kenna I agree. One day will never take us out. We are allowed to be perfectly imperfect...

Sounds like it is well worth it though! Consistency, not perfection!

Everyday is a learning process and a day to go better. It’s never too late to be better, especially you have a goal to make your day better than day before. ☺️ let’s keep going.
