As my buddy Kate would say ... celebrate every victory!!

I decided I would try her method of only recording "losses" on my weight chart. After a long week of eating very healthy and exercise faithfully the scale let me see a whole .6 loss. LOL!!! Really ... I am trying to be patient ... just not feeling patient!!

I have kept track of my ups and downs in my weight for many years. I think it was yesterday I started to review it in an effort to gain some perspective since I am having such a difficult time being patient with the process. Looking back reminds me just how much a journey this really is and reaffirms that I will never be "done" with paying attention to nutrition and exercise. Funny though ... 2 years ago when I joined fatsecret I lost over 19 lbs my first month!!! LOL!!! So much for reaffirming patience!! Oh to lose 19 lbs in a month ... of course it dropped dramatically after that ... I mean the rate of my loss!!

Anyway ... it did help to see the patterns again. It also helped to realize that while I gained, this time I gained less than I have ever gained before when I stopped paying attention. So, quicker recovery ... perhaps I am learning something after all!!! And I also remember talking a lot in the process of my first year here how 200 would be my wake up number. It worked. I hit 200, it freaked me out, I woke up and now this morning my scale shows 194.8 ... nice.

What's on my agenda for today? I've already had breakfast ... my own little egg burrito with pico de gallo, a little hot sauce on a La Tortilla Factory 100 calorie tortilla which is quite tasty by the way. Made hubby hashbrowns and sausage gravy (tasted the spoon ... yummy!!!). I need to get changed into my exercise clothes and hit the elliptical next but I might just enjoy another cup of coffee first!! Not sure what we will do but we might get out for a bit.

Oh I had a casino adventure yesterday. I got carried away. I was losing big time and in a panic started betting bigger and guess what??? I hit a couple of good jackpots on the slot machine and ended up breaking even for the afternoon!!! Wahoo!!!! Too bad I couldn't have hit the jackpots earlier and made money for the afternoon but I was a happy girl walking out that front door.

So on Moose goes ... placing one foot in front of the other and learning something new every step along the way! Practicing gratefulness along with kindness is important for me ... supports my ability to maintain some perspective in my life ...

Today I am grateful ...

1. The migraine I woke up with is gone ...
2. hot flashes have remained decreased for a few weeks now!!!
3. for breaking even at the casino!!
4. the weekend is here and the sun just might shine
5. feeling rested this morning

Have a wonderful weekend ... be good to yourselves ... I am forever working on that myself ... how to practice kindness, re-framing my internal dialogue, consciously slowing myself down and catching myself when I start to beat up on myself, remembering to laugh and smile, being grateful for what I do have.

love your journals, you are definitely sounding like your old self. I hope you had as much fun reading your journals as I did when I first started. I would end up going to bed late each night cause I was hooked on your life! Sounds like you are right back on track. 194 - not to be sniffed at, so much better than 200.

Glad you broke even at the casino...I understand your frustration and impatience with the loss... I have been feeling the same way lately... We will just have to keep plugging away..Hope you are enjoying your Saturday..

Awesome! I've realized that the way I record my weight makes my graph really represent the overall trends, which is what really matters anyway. I don't know, it's worked for me for over 2 years now! I challenge myself not to get caught up in in fluctuations. I do so much exercise, I eat so well, I do not need to worry about fluctuations :). (that's the little speech I give myself before I get on the scale, you can steal it if you want, lol) your breakfast sounds great! Hope your Saturday turns out wonderfully!
