Katsolo's Journal, 25 January 2021

One of the rare mornings here where the office is 49 degrees so I turned on the heat. Winter storm season. Up early for a 7AM call and it's one of three this week. Swam yesterday, did the whole thing non-stop because I felt good, 835 strokes, 10.7METs, average heart rate 145. Looks like it was pretty evenly split between warm up and cardio zones, so nice relaxing one overall. No fighting the water. Went for a walk with BF earlier in the day, it'll be nice to walk to breakfast or lunch once we can go out again. I think he's starting to understand how well behaved the dogs actually are when they're out, until they're not.

Pants are a little snug this morning. Not because of the numbers below, but because I'm wearing leggings underneath. 🥶 I haven't forgotten all my cold weather survival skills. I'm not worried, I actually felt pretty good about everything this weekend and nothing has really changed other than a bulky but delicious dinner last night. Oh, could definitely be sodium in play there, too. Forgotten about that. Still, we'll just watch it and see where we land at the end of it all.

Okay, big girl time. Turning off the heater now. No point in getting too used to it once the office is up past 50.

The plants are my giant birds of paradise. They really are as tall as the house and can grow taller. They're my privacy screen for the pool area. I'm still not used to living so close to other people as we do here although it's better than a lot of places in this older neighborhood. Second pic is the other stand of them. They're as tall as my Jacaranda tree. That bunch desperately needs to be pruned and I guess that falls to me this year.

Enjoy the day!

My mother really liked Bird of Paradise. I can relate to the tights/leggings under pants. 😊 Layers is the way to go, although you can't really shed bottom layers the way you can top layers. 😉 It's nice when you have someone to walk with. Nice photos, thank you for sharing them with us. I do enjoy them. 😊

took me awhile to figure out who you were, Becca, but I'm glad you enjoy. I love looking at everyone's pictures of their lives and what's around them, so I try to do the same. that second pic is one of a series of thousands trying to take a picture of the moon with a cell phone. that quest will continue for a very long time. definitely not there yet as far as seeing detail. I was hoping the clouds would filter the light enough to capture the detail. Nope. not there yet. gotta have dreams.

No Kat, you took a gorgeous photo of the moon! The lighting is impressive. 😍 I tried using my previous name, but it was "taken". Maybe they were talking about me! 😁 I pretty much am starting over again. I'll be happy when I get back to 150, that's when the real work for me begins. I do intend to do some things differently, so that I truly develop a sustainable healthy lifestyle and not a temporary one. 👍

But you still can’t see the details. That’s what’s killing me. I have to break out the big camera for that.

Yes, it is frustrating and a bit disappointing when you compare the quality of images from cell phone to big camera. We still have our 35mm from 1980. 😊📸

Same, and a "vintage" Kodak digital from 2000 something. at least developing is "free" on the digital ones. hoping to score a nice newer Canon or Sony one day off the interwebs.
