Amarok's Journal, 14 March 2009

I've been too busy to cheat this week, and with an indoor humidity of 25% I'm losing the battle to stay hydrated. Now that I've weighed in I can begin operation rehydrate and drink about 8 glasses of water.

My science fair went well and while a few people let me down a few people really picked up the ball and kept me afloat. My grade 12 students cleaned up at the awards sweeping 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

My diet challanges for the day... Because the grade 12's are coming in this weekend to work on buffing up for the regionals in 3 weeks, I bribed them with pizza and muffins (healthy ones with cranberries in them) - but I think my kids will save me from the pizza. While there are some folk that are overweight here, most of our kids are half-starved because of the cost of food up here a lot of families run out of money before pay day (or welfare cheque day). But it means the kids always appreciate when you do something special for them and pizza is a real treat for them.

I also have a party tonight (St. Patrick's day)- so it could be a bit challanging not to eat too many treats and I may have a tough time fitting my work out in as I have to leave for school pretty much now and I don't know when I'll get back or how much time I'll have to work on my own stuff as next weekend I'm away for the regionals and the weekend after our marks are due. I'm going to have to be really focused to make sure I get enough sleep and exercise and I don't get a bit of "report card belly" coming back.
