Debbie Cousins's Journal, 15 January 2021

Thought my weight would be down more since I had THREE fruitful trips to the bathroom yesterday. Maybe the results won't show until tomorrow. Plugging along at 1,800 calories is working for now. It is easier than I thought it would be. I bet that before I was recording, I was probably eating 3,500-4,000 calories a day easily. Now, I'm definitely eating a more healthy diet, with at least one fruit a day (the navel oranges are really nice and sweet right now), and LOTS of vegetables. Yesterday, I planned ahead for the week. Cooked a big bag of carrots, a package of frozen broccoli, and browned a pound of grass-fed ground beef and a pound of sage sausage, and froze them both for use in next week's cooking. Might try chili in my new Instant Pot. If not, a LOT of the recipes start by browning ground beef, so I'm a step ahead of the tame, and I froze it FLAT in a 1-gallon ziploc bag, so it will be very easy to break up into the recipe and won't be a big blob that I'll have to thaw first. I still have a couple of green peppers that I need to dice and flash freeze for later use. Ok, that's my life today.

Congratulations! you're on the right track now. Knew you could do it. Just be aware you might hit a plateau or two so don't get discouraged. They're only temporary. Proud of you.
