I dislike these colder mornings. So hard to get out of bed & I need to wipe down my heaters before turning on the heat, which I don't want to do until October. I had to sleep in long shirt & pants (even socks!) last night. Wish I weren't such a cold baby. Yesterday I told Codey, my 18 yo, that I want to move to Hawaii (never been west of the Mississippi, and he replied, "How about New Mexico?" Don't know where that came from. LOL

Anyway, I've got to get my butt out of bed to get my workout & shower in before school.

That's so funny! I was thinking just this morning how I love the deep cool crisp mornings. I love my cold nose sticking out of the covers while my body is still all warm. The air smells different, fresh and a bit tart; like a good fall apple. Mind you at 4:30am you can't see much, but walking back up the outside stairs w/my first coffee at work the sunrise at 6:15am was amazing!! The burnt orange, golden yellow, fire red, and even the chocolate browns mixed in w/the twinge of morning blue was just a reminder that the fall colors are coming soon. Hmmmm....not sure where that wandering observation is headed, but I love fall. Warm fall sun days, cool crips nights, refreshing mornings, and the anticipation of fall colors....that all start with colder mornings!

Oh, Don't get me wrong. I love fall, too. The colors & crisp air. I wish my body would just agree! LOL Anyone know of anything I can do? I dislike when "Negative Nelly" rears her head & I did feel better once I exercised. I just know that winter's coming & I hibernate & "Depressive Deb" appears. I don't like feeling like that. I'm really trying hard to acknowledge & get rid of my "Stinkin' Thinkin'". kwim? I guess I just have to suck it up & get over it like I tell my soccer girls when they complain about running. ;) Deb

Keep layering up, you can always take one off if you get too warm. I got an electic blanket for my bed, so I never have to crawl into a cold one :). And get hold of a Lumi Light. They are great. It comes on gradually and will help you wake up more naturally. I opt for warm porridge now its cold outside. Warms me through & through :)

I love the fall days, and the crisp smell of the leaves, the wonderful colors. I hate to get up from a warm bed too!!! I have arthritis, so the cold makes it hurt. Thats the only thing that bothers me about the colder weather. Once I'm up and moving I'm good. I get kind of blue too in the winter. I know that gong to a tanning bed then really helps!! Light therapy helps too. If you can get a full spectrum light that will help immensely!! I have one "daylight" bulb in my dining room light. It tends to be a bluer light than the regular bulb. I use compact fluorescent bulbs in all my light fixtures. I think I'll get some more daylight bulbs to help curb that "blueness" that pops up!! I want to try to get to the mountains by the end of the month/ first of October. The color change should be spectacular here in West Virginia this year. We had a good amount of rain, and that always means tons of color!!

I live in the high desert so I am really looking forward to highs in the 70s and 80s! unfortunately it will soon be colder and I will then be anxious for spring, LOL. Arthritis gets me down in winter like PK above, and I hate the short days. One silver lining to hot flashes is they can get me out of bed on a cold morning! One thing that helps me is to get out of bed early enough that I have some time to enjoy my tea & oatmeal, and maybe do a little of a crossword or read a little before I need to get going on my day - a little peaceful time I can look forward to.
