Nikina70's Journal, 06 November 2020

Finally some movement in the right direction. I've started to check the scale using my 6kg weights and that seems to work, but there is still a difference when placed on the uneven floor or on the rug. I think the floor, even being uneven, would be the more accurate one since it's a harder surface so I'm going with that (even though the rug reading was 66.5kg today). I'll try to just keep the conditions the same from here on out to hopefully see a fairly accurate difference in weight, but I'm still looking out for one of those coin operated scales in a mall just to see where I'm really at.

Did a 50min leg and 40 min upper body workout this week so will try to add another hour total body strength over the weekend. Didn't manage it last weekend and I felt like I needed a rest so it's good I got up on Monday morning to get it done.

Didn't end up tracking last weekend either as it would have just been way off. Went to the Slow Market at Oude Libertas on Saturday, which was lovely, and then Spier Wine Farm where we sat and chatted under the trees in a beautiful garden until the farm cafe closed at 5. We were sitting under the shade of the trees in the foreground of the first pic - such a lovely day - perfect social distancing and great for people watching. I was the designated driver so only had a sip of wine, but I did enjoy the Everson's non-alcoholic cider at the market - not the best choice calorie-wise, but then yolo.

Sunday was a lazy day and my sister made this delicious chocolate cake with this to-die-for topping/frosting. Couldn't resist having some in the week as well, but all tracked. Also had a yummy Fry's Veg Schnitzel as a burger with potato wedges and my favourite, Montino Rose, on Sunday evening.

I've been enjoying my salads for lunch for the past few weeks and having 10ml of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water before/with week day meals and also trying to keep my water intake up. Protein is hovering below 65g per day average and I'm ok with that for now. It's a slight improvement. Lets see if I can keep my average daily calories below 1700 this week - it will be the first time in a very long while.

Have a great weekend everyone!

The chocolate cake looks amazing. But what do you mean by using 6kg weights to weigh yourself?

She’s using them to check the accuracy of the scale

Oh, that makes sense. I should have checked mine like that before. Just did and happy to see it's accurate.
