Swam yesterday and walked to breakfast. Kept the current down two notches, did really well, focused on technique now that I'm mostly pain free. 859 strokes, average heart rate 148, 10.6 METs, I think I was around 10.7 previously, so getting it back up there. 15 minutes in peak which means notching down that current was the right thing to do. Better to swim slow and correctly than it is thrashing the water. My core is really weak from babying it for some 12 weeks, that's a weird feeling. Really wish I could work with a trainer right now, but just not possible. I may reach out to a friend I've worked with previously and see what she thinks.
Good day for calorie burn yesterday, 1095, I usually shoot for 630. The watch finally figured out that I'm not walking as much right now and set a goal of 85 miles for me. With the load at work, I just haven't been able to have those days where I can swim and walk - it's been one or the other. Part of why I dragged the gym machine out into the family room. No clothes hanging on it. Using bands to increase the resistance for legs. Made a goal to swim 12 times in October, got 10 in. Keeping November at 12. I did manage to close my rings 30 days out of the 31.
I'm going to start walking with my mom on the weekends, she needs the motivation to move. We'll take the dogs since she enjoys that. Trying to figure out how to keep it challenging for me without being obvious.
So on we go.

Last Halloween pic. I should have centered it a little bit better, but still cool looking. I'm hoping the skeleton house people transition their monsters into Christmas. The sugar skull house has already started. Going to be a great year for lights because people seem to be going all out.

That’s a great idea. Wonder if they’re back in stock. Will be checking once home. Dropping ballots off at the registrar’s before any chaos starts. Everybody vote! Don’t care who you vote for. Embrace the process. Jumps off soapbox.

What a fun house! My neighbors were putting up Christmas light today too! Something cheery to look forward to! Ankle weights are a grand idea! I know it has been a lot of frustration dealing with your limitation with the darn back, but now that you can really swim well, it seems your core should smarten up quickly. Keeping it steady without giving it your all is probably exactly right at the moment. Swimming sounds like the absolute perfect workout rigbt now. I miss it!
