Nikina70's Journal, 30 October 2020

What can I say? I don't seem to be doing very well with the numbers at all, but I just bought a new pair of skinny jeggings and they're a size 12 - a bit tight around the calves, but otherwise I'm in. Also wearing a pair of pants today that I used to wear at my slimmest and hopefully I will be able to breath in them (going out for a business lunch).

The scale gave me about 4 different readings today in different positions on the floor - there was the exciting 62.5kg, the hopeful 65.8kg and then the frustrating 67.9kg, which it then also said once I got on it fully dressed so I'm going with that. I think I'll be looking out for one of those coin operated ones you find in malls for an accurate reading, but for now I'm trying not to let it rule my day/life.

Did a 40min leg, 45min upper body and then 30min arms again workout this week. Might do another hour over the weekend because I've seem some good ones on YouTube I want to try. Also walked Company Gardens and the Natural History Museum flat yesterday taking my little cousin, who's 11, out for the day. Indulged in some baked goods, but then tracked them (guestimated) so we'll see what daily average I end up with. Will try to track through the weekend for a change as we should be staying home this weekend.

Have a great one friends - weekend and week - and give yourself a pat on the back if you're trying - we all are - and that's all that counts!

I felt that too. Up 1 week down 1 week. I just stopped recording my weight a long time ago. A bad number was an excuse to eat a burger meal, at least that way I earned my gain which was just water retention 🤣No weigh in gonna ruin my day

story of my life... scale giving 4 or more different readings is so frustrating 🙄

Nikina, I sometimes do the same scale dance when I weigh in in the mornings. But lately, I’ve been avoiding it and pretending that I forgot. 😂 You’ve got to get on that thing totally naked without your phone or watch! And if your hair is wet after the shower, dry it first. Oh and weigh in before water or coffee because that’ll make you fluctuate too. Mine goes up by 2-3 lbs sometimes after I caffeinate and hydrate. All other numbers are lies, lol. Wonderful job on the workouts and walks with your cousin. That sounds really nice! And what lovely advice for yourself and the rest of us. I feel like a zombie today, but will try to give myself some credit for keeping myself and my little Gremlins alive this week all on my own. Hope you have a wonderful and enjoyable Friday and weekend, love! 💖

From 62 to 67 kg, that's a lot of variation for a scale at the same point in the day. Mine can usually fluctuate a bit, but usually within 100-150g if the readings are taking around the same time. Anyway, it's exciting to fit into smaller old pants!

I know exactly what you going through with the scale it's kind of frustrating but I am going to start just measuring my body instead so I will know even if the scale is wrong I will have numbers to go by to let me know how I'm doing

Thanks iceynino - yes, I didn't let it ruin my day. nzukiso, I'm wondering if I need a new scale, but I think it's to do with an uneven floor. Frustrating indeed!

Yes, Mermee, I live by the same scale rules, but it's so inaccurate these days so I have stepped on fully dressed as well to prove to myself that it's totally off. Spending some time with my cousin was great, yes, thanks! I am hoping to be a good influence on him to make exercise a part of his life early on. I wish I'd learned to enjoy it much sooner in my life too (I think you said something similar in a recent post). Hope you have a lovely weekend too and manage to fit in that run! 💕

Thanks LaughingChevre - yes, I was so happy to fit into them and could still breath 🤣

Thanks jenny3781 - I might start going on just measurements too. Started taking them on the first Monday of the month and recording on the Renpho app so will see. I think the app works with a scale, but I 'm just using the app for manual entry and to keep track with their graphs/trend lines.
