Steven Lloyd's Journal, 17 October 2020

Still on the lower end of my "weight window" so no change in set weight.

LOTS of pre-winter, acreage, outside projects keeping my weekly intensity minutes up...removed 40+ old growth black poplars and a lot of dirt work over the last month. The right machinery helped, but still a lot of constant daily movement and heavy lifting...great exercise without paying a gym membership fee...lol.

Ticking over 11,000 kms on the bike (year to date) sure helps keep the fat from coming back also...

As of a few days ago, all the outside projects were wrapped up as we have had our first serious snowfall a week ago...looks like this snowfall is staying, so back to winter for us. A lot less hectic pace for me now too...thankfully!!

Cheers all, hope you see your goals reached this year and for sure...keep on keepin on!

Steve

First pic was taken in our garage in August...142km virtual ride on Zwift, 2nd day in virtual Ride to Conquer Cancer weekend.

Second pic was first part of October...we had some great riding and working weather for that time of year.

Third pic was taken also in early October...relaxing in our back yard after a long workday, still great weather.

Absolutely wonderful update! I love purposeful working out! Your outside space is so beautiful. You look fit and amazing as always!! Where are you at that you already have snow that will be staying? Near some place to ski is my guess! How is your knee? All back to normal? With all that cycling you surely have it functioning in top form. You are always such an inspiration! Thanks for drifting in and being such an example of what maintaining goals looks like!

Thanks Melissa, we are about 1.5 hrs West of the Rocky Mountains, near a small city in Alberta, Canada. My closest ski hill is 30 minutes, with lots of World Class ski resorts within a four hour radius, plus some of the best back country skiing nearby too. The knee is Ok...much better than last December through to February 2020 but not nearly as tight as I'd like it....still lots to be thankful for, good health, great family and friends, etc, etc, etc.

Oh goodness!! I didnt know you were from AB! I spent much of my life in Three Hills. My hubby was born in Red Deer. We have family all over Calgary area! Some of my first memories that are clear are from swimming at Banff Hot Springs! I LOVE the prairie even though I don't miss the bitter cold. I miss the open, blue sky and all the canola and wheat fields! I am glad to hear your knee is doing better, but do be careful! Will you use a brace for skiing?

We live 4.5 kms from Red Deer on a small acreage Melissa, I grew up on a farm about 20 minutes to the East. I'll bet we have a few common acquaintances.

Wow!!!! I was feeling all sentimental just knowing you are from AB, but so close to my heart's home?!! I've undoubtedly been near your home many times! My hubby's parents both came from farms outside of Red Deer. We used to visit his grandparents in Red Deer even after we had kids of our own! Wonderful memories! Maybe you will post a picture of yourself on the prairie someday... Or even your little dog again! Stay warm and safe!

Thank's SD, I'm a little off of the prior year's pace with a lot of outside projects limiting the ride miles these last two months...but with the snow I'm back at it on the trainer with a vengeance 😎
