Good morning!

It's post-Indulgence Day, and it's actually one of the better weigh-ins for such a day.

Many days of late I have been weighing in around 85 kilos, and today is "only" 83.8. It's a good template for me to work with through the coming week.

One of the things that were definitely different yesterday was that I had smaller meals, and thus didn't weigh myself down as much.

I had no issues waiting to eat until 11 AM and I had no issues stopping eating before 7 PM.

The "messups" - even if allowed for me on Indulgence Day was candies and ice cream - and too much of it! :) Still, I did good. I went for a calorie intake of 3500, and ended up at 3600. That's fine with me. Over the course of the last week I did NO go over the planned RDI, and not significantly under either. It's a good place to be for my "research" on whether upping my daily calories is a smart move or not.

...

Today is Sunday. Wife and I couldn't sleep, as we're used to be up at 4 AM, so I am up now - at 5 AM.

I decided that I'm gonna go hit they gym when they open at 8. I had my rest day yesterday, and was gonna take another today. I workout Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and have two days off for the weekend.

However, there is no reason for me to NOT workout today, and then have days off Monday and Tuesday instead. It will actually fit my schedule WAY better, as I will have more time tomorrow morning.

...

Today is gonna be a fun and easy day.

Gym, probably my walk, and a movie or two this morning. Then rehearsing with the band in the afternoon, and then home to relax.

I will have no issues with getting all my steps in, I will have no issues reaching my "2800 calories burned" goal and it's all gonna be good.

...

I haven't planned out my meals yet, and I don't think I'll be doing too much in this regard. Since there are no snacks planned, and none really needed, I don't really think I need to plan much.

I know we have rye bread, and we have canned tomato mackarel in the pantry. This will most likely be my lunch. It's a light, simple meal, has a good chunk of protein, and it tastes great.

I will probably bring either a couple of protein drinks from the gym, or make a large shake for my afternoon snack - just to make sure I get my 100g of protein throughout the day - and then just wait and see what Wife will be doing for dinner. It's probably gonna be something simple - That's usually what she does on Sundays. We all like to relax on Sundays.

One thing that I have noticed about our cooking habits over the last few years. The one thing that has REALLY changed a lot.

We like what we call "clean" cooking.

When I say this, I mean foods that are easily identifyable, and basically easy to weigh independently. Foods that are NOT put in sauces, mixed with all kinds of things - unless we have cooked it 100% ourselves, so we can do the calculations of what is in it.

I like my dinner plates to have a good chunk of meat, some veggies, maybe some carrots or potatoes, or rice, but not in a sauce. If sauce is part of the dish, then it's served separately, so it's easy to get what one wants without it having to be what everyone else wants. I hope this makes sense. :)

What we do NOT like is going to a buffet, restaurant, work related classes or anywhere else where they serve foods that are made like stews, or has a multitude of things in one dish. Who knows what they put in there? Not thanks. This, I have learned, leads to trouble. If that's all they serve then I'd rather bring my own food, or go to the pizza house next door and get a pita with ham and lettuce. I can identify the ingredients and the amounts on the spot. I then know what I'm doing.

...

It's great to be able to do this, and to be able to identify (or reject) the foods. And then, at the same time, it's a pain in the butt. It often can come across as rude and arrogant, but hey - it's my body. I am the one that used to be fat, and I am no longer fat BECAUSE I identify what I eat. I can't see how that is in any way wrong. I just wish more people would follow, and thus make this a nice new trend in the restaurant world.

It'd be nice, wouldn't it?

That, or if restaurants would actually supply ALL nutritional info and a small scale at the counters. I'd like that. I'd even pay extra for that. Then again, I'd be finding more new "favorite restaurants", go out and eat more, probably get more inferior quality foods, and pay more money. Not smart. Maybe it's a good thing that most restaurants here serve crap. :)

...

I'm all excited to play music today. It feels like it's been AGES! Today is the first day in what, a month and a half?, that we're together all four of us. We've got a ton of songs to brush up on, and a few new to learn properly. It's gonna be a good day!
