59Carol's Journal, 15 August 2020

This is so exciting for me!! I am logging a weight that is NOT in the 190s! I have been stuck in the 190s since the end of last November with occasional forays back into the 200s. 189.4 is a real win for me. It is a 3.4 pound drop from last week which is gratifying.

What is different? I have been mentioning a book that I read entitled "How Not To Diet" in my last couple of posts. I have been following what he recommends based on a wide variety of weight loss studies done all over the globe. They were for the most part simple 'add-ons' and a move towards a more plant based diet.

The other aspect is around the calories. Anyone who reads my posts knows that I subscribe to the idea of watch the calories and the weight will happen. I aimed at a 1185-1210 calorie window. This week I ate 1125 to 1467 calories with an average of 1297 calories. The 1125 was the only day under 1210 calories. However I lost substantially and was never hungry. I plan to continue to edge more and more in the direction of his recommendations.

This week I went down to our local landfill and was shown how to do the office work for the scale so I can spell off my neighbour when she has to do haying and such like. It appears to be very easy and the pay is $24/hour. Nice to have a bit of extra cash too! Will help to pay for all the renovations I want to do.

I am moving things in my basement to get ready for round two when 3 windows will be installed for the future bedrooms. In aid of that, I carried 27 boxes of books up the stairs and out to my heated garage. These books are destined to be donated to a book sale for our local Women's Shelter when such an event is more feasible in the COVID world. Maybe next May, we'll see. I find stairs difficult however I was good on the stairs which is a non scale victory for me!
