cocobutt's Journal, 14 November 2010

I've been very good so far this weekend, and weekends are usually when I indulge a little. What seems to be working for me at this point is telling myself how much of a thing I will allow myself to eat before I eat it. When I went to the farmers market yesterday, I was craving a taco and tamale. I decide early on that I will have only one of each. They're small and make about the right size lunch. I can do this every day.

I was also offered crackers twice yesterday at my Mom's house, but I turned them down. I know now that white refined breads trigger hypereating, so I will keep refusing them. I don't miss them anyway.

Great job resisting the temptations of the refined foods!! Those crackers are hard. I have the same problem with the refined foods and carbs. I am so addicted and so intolerant, and when I eat them, the results are horrifying...I start eating them and it is like something takes over my body and my mind and I just cannot stop. So I stick to low carb, no refined anything. I try to eat nothing but whole foods these days. It seems to be working for me. I just wish I had followed these rules the first 3 times I used the low carb, whole food method to lose weight. Could have saved myself a lot of grief. Oh, well, live and learn, right?

I too understand the addictive nature of these processed type foods. I never seem to over do it the whole foods like I do the refined processed stuff. I think I'll go and get an apple right now. TOWANDA!!

Thanks, buddies! @Ctlss, my meal plan sounds much like yours. I have had a horrible addiction to refined carbs. It was making me miserable, and I can really see it clearly now that it's been about 6 months of getting out of that vicious cycle. @Lisa, one word of advice... just don't google cocobutt unless you have safe search turned on! lol
