Hey Joanna, a couple of days, week at best, of the IF and you will be back to where you want to be. I absolutely love IF. Glad you had a good trip.

Thanks, Is. I love IF too. I've been really working at it since I got home. We'll see what happens Thurs. Hugs, my friend.

Heather, I started doing intermittent fasting, a la Michael Mosely, for brain health. I'm hoping to use it as just one more tool to stave off dementia. I checked with my Drs and they say, done judiciously, it can't hurt. Just don't get carried away and go anorexic. Me . . . anorexic! LOL!!!

How long do you fast and when do you do it? I tried doing this but I am diabetic and it didn't do too well with keeping my blood sugar at an even keel.

Hi, Sandy. I only do it two separate days a week. I have breakfast, then broth and fluids the rest of the day. I try for 500 Cals for the day. I do keep foods available to raise my blood sugar quickly, if needed. So far, I haven't needed to use them. My blood sugar stays on a very even keel. That was the reason I checked with my Drs first. I think the broth helps. I'm not doing it for weight loss, however. I'm doing it to see if I get any brain benefits from it. I think you can still find Michael Mosley's show about it, on-line.

Thanks Johanne (and Isabel). Glad you're not going for anorexic, LOL. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Another thing to keep dementia at bay is taking B-complex vitamins. It's been helping my mom. It also helps with depression and focus and energy. The days I forget to take my "B-complex" (dementia? hee hee) I just drag around. Oh... I need to take one now. :)

Yup, I take B, plus extra B-12 for my anemia. So many supplements, so little time. LOL!
