Katsolo's Journal, 30 May 2020

Good swim yesterday. 799 strokes, heart rate in 140's, whole thing felt good and balanced. I have a little soreness on the rib today (thanks sneezing), but nothing like what it was. Definitely healing. Happy with that.

Yard stuff again today. Bars and restaurants are open, but giving it a couple weeks before dining in. Still waiting on those masks I ordered in April. I have a fire pit I bought from a neighbor that needs some retrofitting to work again. Excited about that. Really need some of my guy friends to come over and help me move that and the fountain, especially now. Too big for just me and BF, I think the base of the fountain weighs about 200#. I'll ask right before 4th of July. Gives me time to do other things. Also thinking about setting up a workout area on the small patio outside my office. It's close enough to the fence that the neighbor can't see me (this was more of an issue when there was a teenage boy last year, but they moved) and I've already got a shade umbrella set up there to keep the office cool. I'd still pull things inside because of moisture, but it would be nice to work out outside. Used to do this at the boxing club, hadn't thought about it until I read about an outside gym yesterday. With the exception of parts needed for fire pit, goal is to not spend any money, but use what I have. Still think I can do well.

Wish I'd taken more "before" pics of myself, but here's where we are as of yesterday. I do have some pics that I use to look back, but they're not going up here. I am much more toned than before, legs are definitely stronger with the things I can do and my endurance is way up. I want to take pics of my calves and quads, but it's harder than you'd think. I looked back at last years' exercising heart rate and while I can still get it up there during workouts, it's with increased intensity and I'm not tired after like I was two years ago. I'm keeping the knee injuries in check, too, which is important as a female because we are more prone to overextension injuries and I've already hyperextended both more than once. Why swimming is great for my body as well as being my happy place.

Time to walk away from the computer. Enjoy the day.

Great pic! I so want to go swimming again, but the pool here at the apartment is still closed!

Should be opening soon, silkian, they're letting people lounge poolside with masks at a friend's place as of yesterday here in SoCal. She didn't mention actually swimming though. I'll ask her.

Love the picture friend 🤗 your doing so awesome. I think waiting a few more weeks for dine in is a good idea. It takes one unknowing person to infect so many others. I might go swimming today, no thunderstorms today but high only 80. Enjoy your day 💜💚

You are absolutely right with the overextension injuries. I fell and sprained my ankle and my back in early February. Earlier this month I sprained that same ankle, it is SO important to take it easy. I still love to run, but I walk some days. You are doing great! I'm also waiting for a few masks to come in too. You got this 🔥

I'm so glad your ribs are healing well enough to swim more comfortably! What a super cute picture!
