debbra's Journal, 25 November 2008

Some ups and downs this week, my first week on this site. But overall, a great experience. And I did lose weight. The wedding on the weekend was my downfall, and I screwed up the couple of days afterwards as well. I'm surprised I lost weight. It just goes to show me that I need to not take a screw-up so seriously. I'm back on the ball. I'll try hard this week. A obstacles coming up -- Thanksgiving and my son's birthday party where I have planned cookie docrating and a pinata. I'll have to try to ride the rough waters and not drown. I'll just keep on here.

Here I am at 6:45 pm, and I am happy with the way things are going today. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to stick to my diet because every day since the wedding -- Saturday, Sunday and Monday -- I've been eating too much at night. I was worried this morning when I ate a half a piece of bread. I thought it was going to throw me off. But now I think that I might be able to pull myself back into the swing of things by writing all my thoughts down on here.
I realized something about myself this week. I eat more when I'm stressed. My son had a ton of homework this weekend, a book report and a big science project, which he needed help with. Then we had two big events that cut that time in half, the wedding and my niece's birthday party. We ended up being very last minute about everything, which I will never allow to happen again. But at least we got them finished. And now I'm relaxed. I think that that will help me eat less.
I was able to do my exercise today, although tomorrow I'm not sure. Anyway, I am basically pretty happy with myself.

WTG on your loss, 1.2 lbs is excellent and also a healthy amount to lose in one week. This journey will be full of ups and downs, even on the scale. I know this first hand, I am a scale junkie and I see the daily fluctuations in weight. The bottom line is that if you stick with the WW plan and you use the tools here on FS as well as the encouragement from your buddies, it will pay off in the end. Good luck on your journey to a healthier, happier you!

Thanks for the support. You know, I was surprised I lost weight at all. It just goes to show you that a little slip is not the end of the world. I'm still really pleased to be here because I really feel that I had an emotional fall and that this site and the support here is like a crutch to pull myself up on. I usually react for a week or so after an event that makes me eat too much, like that wedding I had this weekend. But I can feel that I've pulled myself out of the mess. I even feel more confident going into the holidays.
