Egull1's Journal, 11 May 2020

Well, it looks like it took A LOT of energy to process that 3300-3500 surplus day last Friday, because we now have a new low at 119.0 lbs even for a loss of .4 lbs. LOL - Just for the record I step on the scale 3 times in row to ensure I'm getting the correct weight. It's digital scale so thankfully it hasn't hopped around and stays pretty consistent. On another front - this girl hit a 3 year goal in the making yesterday and FINALLY HIT THE 60 UN-MODIFIED PUSH-UP MARK.

I do it in 3 sets of 20 and throw some lat pulls in between sets. But, yesterday something in my head shifted and I walked into my gym, looked up at the universe and said, "I want to make it 60 today - I need all the support I can get. And, I want to do it clean - not sloppy. I want to keep my form through all 60". And, wouldn't ya know the universe said "yeah, baby let's shake this roof off the house and get it done!"

It took me 3 years to hustle up to that moment. When I first started 91 lbs ago in 2017, I could only do them standing and pushing against the wall. Then I switched to modified on my knees right around the time I was hospitalized for the MS and lost all sensation in my legs. Doing unmodified, let alone planks was such a tricky process, because it's really hard to balance ANYTHING when one can't feel their toes. Needless to say, I stuck with unmodified pushups for a long time and really had to work at being steady with my planks.

But, the day finally came in 2019 when my co-workers said, "listen if you can do 60 modified on your knees, you can start trying unmodified, you have the upper body strength, just keep working at it".

And, that is what I did...one push up at a time with the goal to hit 60. And, your girl finally hit it!!! Woohooo!

Next goal after I adjust to the 60 is to start adding weight...
119.0 lb Lost so far: 91.0 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 12.6 lb a week

Thank you, everyone! {{BIG BIG HUGS}} The support and encouragement inspires me to keep chipping away at it!!! And, Chris - I do the lat pulls using a set of resistance bands I bought off of amazon a few years ago. Here is the link to one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GCA4BJC/coliid=IZLV5FAY3WJIG&colid=1J6ESO42COWPL&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it , but amazon has a few different sets. I just attach it to the door. I like these kind because you can actually double them up to increase the resistance. But, I feel ya - I want to get another kettlebell and a set of 20 lb. dumbbells and they're all sold out or out of stock!!! I guess everyone is trying to create their own home gym, right now.
