Well, 2nd week of induction over and have lost another 3lb making 6 in total.
Frankly I am disappionted not to have lost a lot more considering my size.
Also my wife who cooks the meals is complaining about the expense of the diet, its blowing a hole in the shopping budget, as my wife and 3 kids eat mostly pasta/rice/cous cous dishes.
As we on on such a tight budget i cannot condone spending more on myself, it seems selfish. I can maybe start buying cheap frozen mince but how long before that becomes boring?

I dont know - am going to give it another week I think as I have the food in and take time to mull things over a bit...

maybe your wife and you could review the inductions foods list together, since it sounds like she does the shopping...this should not have to break the budget...I looked quickly over your foods lists and your Sodium levels are dangerously HIGH. Try to get them down to 2200 or under. And be sure to drink your water.

I have to agree with jsfantome about the budget. I have found that with me not eating as much processed foods that I do not spend as much. Usually a meal for my husband and I is a piece of meat and a vegetable for dinner. Breakfast is eggs and either sausage or bacon. Lunch consists of a salad or meat and vegetables. You also tend to eat less so there is the savings there. If my husband wants bread, pasta or rice I cook enough for him to have 1 to 2 servings. About the only thing that I eat that is processed is the atkins bars. They are very good by the way. My intent however is to get to the point that I rarely use those and instead make my own desserts. As far as your loss. I would check out the atkins website. It is very helpful in finding out why you have stalled or are not losing as much. It could be as simple as not drinking enough water or you may be eating to many hidden carbs. Good Luck!!

Hi Nikkolas, You should be proud that you have lost 6lbs any loss is a good one. Stay focused and strong and you can do it. Have you tried the Cauliflower fried rice recipe, I hated cauliflower before trying this out and it's amazing it tastes great! I realise with you living in England food and especially meat is very expensive. Maybe even ask your wife to make you up a pot of Pumpkin Soup although on induction we have to eat that sparingly too. There are lots of good low carb recipes out there that we are allowed to have on induction. Don't give up just think how great you are going to feel when you lose some of your weight:)

I agree with the folks above. You can also buy frozen veggies. I watch for the sales. Since on Atkins, I really search out the sales. Atkins is very workable. It takes a bit to get use to, but as time passes, it gets much, much easier. You don't have to go broke on this diet. Hang in there, you can do it.:):)
