abbadabba's Journal, 05 March 2020

No idea why this is working when nothing much else did - new low, third line into the yellow, never had that ever before. WEighed myself about 6 times to make sure I got it correctly.
Down to 32.3% bodyfat - again, a new low according to this scale I have had for 10 years. At one point I was up at 39% but luckily not recently. This means I have 104 pounds of lean body mass (everything that is not fat).
Something is definitely working. This diet is actually working out to be similar to what I did a few years ago with the crazy trainer who helped me lose 26 pounds, 20 of which I did keep off for a long time.
Happy Thursday!
154.4 lb Lost so far: 28.6 lb.    Still to go: 13.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Great that it is working. What are you doing differently?

@liv001 focusing on protein intake and avoiding all added fats not in the protein already - no butter, oil, sesame oil, all nonfat dairy products. You can see from the February food diary that I cheated almost daily too, but the planned amount was so low, the cheating didn't stop things.

I believe protein to be very essential for us as we get older. It is what I focus my plates around as well

A high protein intake will give you less net calories. Each gram is closer to 3.2 calories than 4 because of it's thermic effect. It also helps your body retain lean mass. Add resistance training and you'll more quickly achieve a healthier body composition as well.
